Chapter 379 - Chapter 381 Xiao Ting

"Fuck! Damn it, Sun Jack! You just wait!!" Xiao Ting, staring at the retreating figure in the distance, became extremely angry in an instant.

"You'd better get a grip on your emotions. When you look at me with that kind of look, I can sense it."

Seeing Sun Jack close the door behind him without turning back, Xiao Ting picked up the potted plant decoration from the table and hurled it at the door.

She had never been done wrong like this ever in her life!

But after venting, she immediately bucked up, mentetically atted her mindset, and began to prepare for work.

No matter how much she hated the person, she first had to regain her freedom.

After briefly evaluating this technological advancement direction, she sent her requirements directly to the company's HR department.

She didn't plan to ask a real person for help. Knowing her reclusive personality and that she definitely couldn't get along with others, and besides, nobody knew if there were any of Sun Jack's spies around.

So, she planned on cloning the consciousness and memories of these applicants once they arrived, using these digital personalities as free labor, which was convenient and cheap.

She decided to lay low for a while, aiming to lower Sun Jack's guard before seeking other opportunities.

Suddenly, with a "snap," the door opened, and Xiao Ting saw a man with dirty dreadlocks, a face full of tattoos, and a gold tooth grinning as he walked in, curiously sizing her up.

"Who are you? Get out of my office!" Xiao Ting was in a very bad mood.

"Girl~ didn't you just ask HR to recruit some people? I'm the head of HR, can't I come over to get familiar with you?" Old Six slapped his gleaming LED golden tie.

Looking at the skull tattoo on Old Six's face, Xiao Ting snorted and flipped him the middle finger.

Old Six wasn't offended; curious about the newcomer's background, he found her intriguing.

As the head of the HR department, he easily found her profile. "Tech R&D Department? Xiao Ting? What's your relationship with Sun Jack? Why does that name sound familiar?"

"It's none of your business. Just make sure to send the people over quickly. If you delay and piss off your boss, knowing his demeanor, he could ruin your life," Xiao Ting said as she reclined in her chair, throwing her legs up on the desk.

"How can you talk about my bro like that? What's wrong with his personality? He has a great personality, and most importantly, he's incredibly generous! You'll definitely benefit if you stick with him."

Realizing that he was trying to get cozy with her, Xiao Ting, devoid of mood, turned her face away, uninterested in engaging with him.

"What's your fetish? Our branch recently launched a new Sun Jack model massager. Would you like to help us test the product?"

"What exactly do you want??" Xiao Ting asked coldly, facing Old Six.

Just when the atmosphere got somewhat awkward, a hand reached from behind and landed on Old Six's shoulder, pulling him away.

It was Linda Linda, dressed in a conventional office lady outfit for the day, with makeup that also shifted towards a more intellectual look, completely devoid of her past vulgarity.

She smiled at Xiao Ting. "I'm really sorry, this guy has no manners. Don't take it personal; I'm Linda Linda from the company's relations department. Nice to meet you, Xiao Ting. Welcome to the Utopia family."

"If you run into any trouble when you first get to the company, remember to contact me. I'm online all the time,"

Seeing the other person reaching out a hand toward her, Xiao Ting couldn't make it awkward, so she reached out and shook hands with them.

"Lunch is almost ready, do you want to join me? It's one of our company perks,"

Xiao Ting was about to refuse, but the other person's next words changed her mind. "How about we join forces and eat the damn boss into bankruptcy?"

Upon hearing this, Xiao Ting immediately stood up and walked toward the door, not letting any opportunity to inflict loss on Sun Jack slip by. "Let's go."

All the way there, Linda Linda enthusiastically introduced the function and gossip of each floor of the company until they reached the company canteen, where her right hand had already unconsciously clasped Xiao Ting's.

The entire canteen occupied a whole floor, rows of seats backed by a line of robotic arms rapidly preparing food, everyone holding metal trays, chatting with colleagues while queuing.

The air was thick with the scent of food, making Xiao Ting feel a bit hungry too.

Looking at everything around her, Xiao Ting was a bit surprised; it was her first time seeing an actual cafeteria in the company.

Meanwhile, Linda Linda started explaining nonstop, "Try the hot dogs here; if you're lucky, there might even be some real meat in them."

"Don't go for the Eagle Corn Beans; they're all canned food."

Xiao Ting didn't care whether it was tasty or not, she just picked some of the most expensive items, and when she sat down, she began to eat as if she were devouring Sun Jack's own flesh, grinding her teeth with each bite.

Seeing this, Linda Linda immediately started bad-mouthing Sun Jack. "You might not know this since you're new, but our boss is really no good."

Hearing this, Xiao Ting looked up suddenly as if finding a kindred spirit. "You hate Sun Jack too?!"

"Of course, he's the boss, the exploitative boss! How could I not hate him? I work my ass off every day, and sometimes I even have to satisfy the bastard's weird fetishes."

"Damn that son of a bitch."

If there was a way to quickly bring two people together, it was undoubtedly a common enemy.

Halfway through the meal, Xiao Ting and Linda Linda had grown noticeably closer.

"Xiao Ting, be careful. If he tries to exploit you, remember to message me right away, and I'll help you," Linda Linda whispered tenderly.

Xiao Ting looked at Linda Linda and secretly thought, "It seems there are others in the company who suffer the same way; perhaps they could be utilized as a breakthrough point."

Meanwhile, Linda Linda was secretly sending a message to Tapai. "Made contact. She seems naive, not much experience with people."

The message from Tapai came back immediately. "This guy can copy others' memories and personalities directly, turning virtual personalities into slaves, messing with human brains. Don't underestimate him."

"Keep a close eye on things inside the company for me later; she's a higher priority for now."

"Alright," Linda Linda opened the system work diary and postponed other matters.
