Covered in scars, Sun Jack hovered in midair, looking down at the spacecraft carrier below. He couldn't help but laugh, he had succeeded, finally, the moment had arrived.
But as he laughed, Sun Jack's smile suddenly froze because he noticed the rain had stopped. As he slowly lifted his head, countless metallic constructs flickered in and out of view amidst the clouds.
Fighter jets, drones, spacecraft carriers, and all the corporate troops of Gaofeng Technology had arrived as well, slowly descending from the clouds with a tremendous oppressive force. As they descended, the acidic rain they had blocked also began to fall.
It wasn't just the sky; ground forces had arrived too. Various combat units, big and small, all targeted Sun Jack in the air.
Seeing this, Sun Jack's face showed no fear as his right hand slowly reached to his left.
With a "buzz", a huge Sky-base Weapon flew into midair, moving towards his palm. "Come on!!"
As soon as Sun Jack finished speaking, six figures wearing different Battle Armors flew up from the ground, standing silently behind him with furrowed brows.
At this moment, he was no longer the unknown entity who could only bribe drones flying down from the spacecraft carrier for time; now, he could finally stand up against the company openly and legitimately.
"Sun Jack." A familiar voice came from the Leviathan ahead; the voice was inexplicably familiar, and Sun Jack quickly remembered it belonged to Federation's Number 13!
It seemed that this so-called Number 13 was the real power broker of Gaofeng Technology.
Facing a broadcast that covered almost all of Metropolis, the other side started to speak officially, "In Metropolis, private property is sacred and inviolable. Sun Jack, do you know that blatantly seizing company property is illegal?"
"Heh." Sun Jack chuckled, "I'm breaking the law? And conducting human experiments isn't illegal for you people?!"
As he spoke, Sun Jack directly played the video recording previously made. "All of you damn open your eyes! Look at what the company considers you!!!"
However, as Sun Jack played the video, it was instantly blocked. With the downfall of Sharp Flash Technology, Gaofeng Technology had completely monopolized public opinion, and his voice was not heard by anyone.
"Believe it or not, these are all employees of Gaofeng Technology, they volunteered, and naturally, they have to endure the hardships of their jobs for the money they accept; this is their freedom," Number 13 explained to Sun Jack.
Even though no one heard, he still kept explaining, and Sun Jack knew exactly to whom he was justifying—the Holy Grail People.
Faced with such horrific test subjects, the Holy Grail People, who had been detached from the lower strata for hundreds of years, naturally needed a reason to deceive their feigned compassion.
They are all volunteering, they do it for the money, and they are only poor because they didn't work hard enough! Only with this belief could they exploit others with a clear conscience, just like the old Matrix.
Sun Jack no longer wanted to explain anything; if he could have won with words, he wouldn't have needed to struggle so hard.
"Have you said enough?" As Sun Jack spoke, the top of the Sky-base Weapon quickly focused its light, turning swiftly towards the spacecraft carrier from which Number 13's voice emanated.
Accompanied by a white laser beam that pierced the skies of Metropolis, the whole city briefly lit up.
However, this time the Sky-base Weapon had no effect. The targeted spacecraft carrier in the distance quickly distorted and vanished like a mirage in front of Sun Jack; the attack had merely hit an afterimage.
"Security forces move forward, target: neutralize Sun Jack, seize the Sky-base Weapon!" As Number 13 spoke, all the troops of Gaofeng Technology surrounded him.
Quickly scanning around, Sun Jack thought to himself, "The spacecraft carrier isn't here? Could it be in the clouds?"
With that thought, Sun Jack directly flew towards the clouds, stepping on the Sky-base Weapon.
But just as he was about to enter the clouds, a bolt of lightning suddenly struck down, hitting Sun Jack directly, and his system interface rapidly issued various warnings. The entire window flickered on and off.
Having been in Metropolis for so long, although it rained every day, this was the first time he had seen lightning. It was a meteorological weapon from the spacecraft carrier!
Clearly, he had guessed right; the spacecraft carrier was indeed inside the clouds.
However, the Sky-base Weapon, though powerful, had insufficient range and was of no use here. The opponent wasn't foolish enough to expose the spacecraft carrier outside, letting him shoot foolishly.
Now, a much broader-ranging and more powerful weapon was needed to completely disperse the entire cloud layer.
But in this situation, how could he find such a weapon? A sudden idea struck Sun Jack, and he immediately had a plan.
"AA! Now that we have isotopes, can we make a nuclear bomb?" Sun Jack stood up, shook his dizzy head, and asked AA, who was inside the Sky-base Weapon,
"Boss!! I've already prepared it!! After finishing the reactor, I didn't stop for a moment and kept on making nuclear bombs! This time, you definitely won't run out of nuclear bombs!"
Hearing this, Sun Jack was overjoyed. "I love you!! AA!! When we get back, I'll clone ten of you!!"
Just as Sun Jack was approaching the energy chamber door, the door was blasted open and two clones, carrying the remarkably crude nuclear bomb, flew out. "Let's go."
Watching them, Sun Jack nodded firmly, "Safe journey!"
To provide them cover, Sun Jack promptly began a relentless attack on Gaofeng Technology's combat unit using the Sky-base Weapon.
Streaks of white light swept across, causing continuous explosions; in no time, the entire sky and ground were engulfed in battle.
Various forms of genetic monsters flew over, attempting to break into the Sky-base Weapon to seize control, but under Sun Jack's protection, they never succeeded.
Seeing that something was wrong, they immediately began to alter their strategy, starting to attack the Sun Jacks carrying the nuclear bomb.
But whenever they did this, the Sun Jacks provided full protection, including the remaining few members of the Utopia Security on the ground.
"Tapai! Protect the network control rights of the Sky-base Weapon!"
"This thing is physically disconnected. As long as they can't hack your system, they can't hack this Sky-base Weapon!"
No sooner had Tapai finished speaking than a flash of white light suddenly appeared in the clouds, followed by a bright fireball that rapidly expanded within the clouds.
This fireball, tens of times bigger than the sun, lit up the entire Metropolis, and its dazzling light illuminated the entire sky, completely evaporating the acidic rain with temperatures in the millions of degrees Celsius.
