As Sun Jack's helmet—equipped with a high-sensitivity quantum radar, environmental sensors, and an enhanced communication array—settled onto his head, he felt as if a cool wave of water had poured over him from head to toe in an instant.
Indeed, it was no wonder that it was specially designed for someone like him, a gene modifier—extraordinarily exceptional.
Due to his previous genetic modifications, Sun Jack's perception was already much stronger than that of a normal person, but the moment he put on the helmet, it instantly tripled.
Moreover, this special helmet could detect the composition of the air, radiation levels, and even see the electronic signals floating in the air.
With a mere two-second stare, those electronic signals would automatically decrypt into text understandable by Sun Jack, displaying on his system interface.
And the most important advantage was, although he didn't know how Gaofeng Technology had managed it, wearing this so-called smart control helmet also kept his consciousness perpetually as if soaked in ice water, ensuring his thoughts remained in a state of absolute calm.
"Would you like to activate the smart AI assistant mode?" a cold, mechanical voice sounded in Sun Jack's ear.
"No, I've got it covered."
After fitting the helmet, Sun Jack began trying on other equipment.
When Sun Jack picked up the flexible garment and put it on, feeling it squirm around his body, he realized that this so-called Gene Fusion Lock Nano Battle Armor was composed of millions of self-repairing nanobots forming a liquid metal mesh.
As the system connected, Sun Jack saw its various functions.
The Battle Armor integrated perfectly with the wearer's gene-modified cells, providing customized nutrient circulation and biofeedback, maximizing combat efficiency.
Furthermore, the Battle Armor could provide immediate vital sign monitoring and nutrient supplementation, even connecting directly with the bloodstream through nano-channels for rapid drug delivery.
At Sun Jack's control, this remarkable Battle Armor switched seamlessly and quickly between a flexible, breathable outfit and rigid protective Armor Plates.
Once he got used to it, Sun Jack moved on to the next selection—weapons this time.
Deep on the seventh underground level, there were both long-range and melee weapons, but most were designed primarily for melee combat. It was evident that at least for now, Gaofeng Technology judged these gene warriors to be better suited for close-quarters surprise attacks and decapitation strikes.
As Sun Jack sifted through various weapons systems, he paused in front of a meter-long rod and couldn't help but smile, remembering what a companion had said to him. "Great Saint, huh? Sounds good."
When the system connected, the rod on the ground flew into his hand with a buzz as he opened his right hand, and two laser beams appeared instantaneously at both ends.
Swinging his new weapon quickly, and with the smart link active, Sun Jack felt that it wasn't so much a weapon as it was a new organ, an extension of himself.
As Sun Jack exerted force with both hands, the Laser Rod flew out and embedded itself in the wall. With a single-handed gesture, the Laser Rod swiftly flew back into his grasp with a whoosh.
Sun Jack quickly got familiar with these special spoils of war. It was obvious they had been experimentally tested hundreds, if not thousands of times, and they melded perfectly with Sun Jack's modified genes, feeling as comfortable on his skin as if they were part of him.
Under Sun Jack's control, these new functions worked as naturally as breathing. His Battle Armor rapidly switched from Mimetic Camouflage to a Magnetic Field Shield.
These pieces of equipment were indeed incredibly useful, but Sun Jack couldn't help but think of the cost of their development, adding under his breath that the people behind them were true beasts, as each component was tinged with blood.
"Wait before you use them. Wait for me to experiment and confirm that Gaofeng Technology hasn't left any traps. Then you can put it on," Sun Jack sent a message to the other Clones.
Just as Sun Jack constantly tested the capabilities of his new acquisitions, his interface rapidly showed that radiation levels were skyrocketing, and his Battle Armor automatically activated Particle Deflection.
Soon, Sun Jack saw AA, gasping for breath, carrying a bucket of glowing blue material as he walked out. At that moment, Sun Jack's system blared with piercing alarm sounds, with radiation values nearly off the charts.
"So heavy," AA, with a nosebleed, wiped the sweat from his forehead and chuckled at Sun Jack.
"Boss! I found the isotope!! I'm going to charge up the rod now!"
"Are you out of your mind!"
"It's fine, Boss. Brain cells don't regenerate, and they don't need metabolism, so they won't be damaged by nuclear radiation. When the time comes, you can just help me...uh~ get a new body," AA said while holding back his nausea as he walked towards the Sky-base Weapon.
Just as Sun Jack was about to offer help, the ground beneath them shook violently, with various objects in the trembling environment floating upwards.
"Tractor beam?! The Spacecraft Carrier is here!!" Sun Jack walked to the fault line, looked out, and saw that pitch blackness that blocked the sky, as well as the dense swarm of drones descending.
The very next second as Sun Jack observed, a missile shot straight toward the Sky-base Weapon.
Sun Jack gritted his teeth, stamped his feet hard on the ground, and rapidly flew upwards. "You get it installed! Let me know the moment it's done!! I'm going to stop them!!"
With a swing of Sun Jack's right hand, the rod in his hand spun out, striking the falling missile.
Accompanied by a deafening explosion, the rod spun back into Sun Jack's hand.
As flames burst forth violently, Sun Jack ascended rapidly, facing the incoming dense swarm of drone insects. There surely were a million, but even to guess conservatively, there must have been at least a hundred thousand.
"I'm here." Tapai, somehow got there in no time, came below Sun Jack, catching his feet with his back.
In sync with Utopia Security's mines working frantically, any aerial units approaching Sun Jack exploded one after another. For a moment, the dim sky was lit up with the glow of flames.
Wherever Sun Jack flew, drones exploded there, lively filling the sky.
During that time, all missiles attempting to strike the Sky-base Weapon were intercepted by Sun Jack and Tapai.
But quickly, Tapai's hacking skills ceased to be effective, as Gaofeng Technology's hacking group started to exert their power. Not only did the drones stop exploding, but even Sun Jack's cybernetic body began to spiral out of control.
"This won't do! The interference is too intense! We're just sitting ducks like this!! Tapai!!"
Hearing Sun Jack's businesslike call, Tapai seemingly nodded, grabbed his right leg, and with a rapid spin of his waist, flung him straight towards the Spacecraft Carrier.
Sun Jack, under a high parabolic arc, landed on top of the Spacecraft Carrier, and as his footsteps emitted a faint glow, he hung upside down on the heavy Armor Plate, rushing toward the nearby drone exit.
Sensing Sun Jack's approach, the hatch swiftly closed.
However, with Sun Jack gripping his weapon tightly and bringing it down in a powerful slash, the entrance reappeared.
Sun Jack bent at the waist and without hesitation, dived in.
