Matrix, Sun Jack saw her delicate features at this moment, yet her face no longer held the calmness and nonchalance it once did. She was tense all over, mechanically repeating the commands she had issued before.
Despite having repeated them many times, and knowing full well they were futile, the Matrix nonetheless kept trying, attempting to make a miracle happen.
For in her memory, over the past centuries, this had always been the way to overcome challenges: simply issuing commands would solve all problems. In other words, she had been thoroughly domesticated.
She was incapable of anything else; her way of dealing with any issue was to issue commands within the system.
Hearing footsteps, the Matrix turned around. When she saw Sun Jack approaching with a group of people, she almost collapsed, taking a fearful, involuntary step back.
