Chapter 573 - Chapter 586 Questioning

Sun Jack stood frozen, his eyes widening as he watched the massive pillar of fire before him, the constant sound of alarms in the air giving him an almost dreamlike sensation.

He had only said to prohibit the research of immortality technology and had not given any order, just like how they dealt with AI in the Third Class – any form of contact had to be thoroughly cleansed, but something had gone wrong in the execution, a big problem.

He knew what this scene meant, yet it was hard for him to imagine that it was actually happening right before his eyes.

He had to go back now; he wanted to find everyone and ask them clearly what exactly was happening.

Just as he lifted his right foot, a bald man from beside him rushed over, hysterically grasping Sun Jack's trench coat as he demanded, "Why! Why did you kill them! Why did you kill my son! Back when we were fighting the FFP! Do you know he risked his life for you?!"

With this man taking the lead, others who had lost their loved ones gradually gathered around, their eyes bearing grief and anger, bombarding him with questions.

Facing them, Sun Jack kept retreating, continuously trying to explain, "I didn't! I didn't want to kill them! I didn't! This isn't the outcome I wanted!"

However, to Sun Jack's pale explanations, the people, having lost their reason, paid no attention.

They all knew that Sun Jack was the Boss of the entire Utopia Federation, and this incident had started because of him; therefore, whatever happened, it was his fault.

As more and more people started to crowd around Sun Jack, suddenly the sound of gunfire rang out, with intelligent bullets pouring down like rain.

"Fuck off, how dare you disrespect Sun Jack! Are you all looking to fucking die?!" The people taking action were citizens of Metropolis: upon seeing the man who had led them to better lives, Sun Jack, being bullied, they all drew their weapons and started to attack.

Bullet after bullet and grenade shells, surrounding Sun Jack, collided with flesh and burst into brilliant sprays of blood.

"Stop… everybody stop!" Yet, to Sun Jack's pleas, the people around him grew more bloodthirsty with each kill, paying no mind to what he was saying.

An anguished Sun Jack raised his right hand and clenched it tightly. "Everybody fucking stop!"

With a loud "bang" accompanied by an extremely fierce shockwave, a massive Sky-base Weapon plummeted down, crashing through the ground and standing erect on the battlefield like a colossal pillar.

In an instant, everyone was knocked down, and the scene finally fell silent.

Sun Jack slowly closed his eyes, then reopened them and spoke, "Secure them; I need to go back and find them."

The arriving Clones nodded slowly, started maintaining order on the field, and began isolating the battlefield to tally the casualties.

Sun Jack turned and walked towards Utopia Security Headquarters, his eyes filled with uncontrollable fury.

Then, he opened the high-level channel of the Utopia Federation and said in an eerily calm voice, "Everyone, to the conference room for a meeting!!"

As Sun Jack pressed on, more Clones gradually gathered behind him, their eyes also filled with anger.

With the numbers of Sun Jacks increasing, they eventually formed a vast multitude, heading towards the headquarters.

And just at that moment, four people emerged from the nearby subway entrance, led by the Poet carrying an electric guitar adorned with various game characters.

Seeing Sun Jack walk past him, he suddenly waved his hand eagerly, "Hey! Jack! I'm back! Did you miss me at all? Look, this is the new band I've formed, DD The Beatles! I've even written a few new songs!"

But obviously, at this time, Sun Jack couldn't be bothered with Poet, continuing to walk forward with a somber expression.

Seeing this, the Goth-style drummer beside Poet immediately looked at his companion with disdain.

"Damn it, you said you knew Sun Jack and could get us a sponsorship from him for our band, are you scamming us?"

Hearing this, Poet awkwardly chuckled and took the guitar from around his neck, handing it over to the bassist next to him.

"I've got something to deal with, hold this for me." After saying this, he chased after Sun Jack.

By the time he clumsily made his way through the crowd and reached the conference room, he found the atmosphere was so grave it was frightening, with Clone Sun Jack completely surrounding the entire conference room.

The Poet, somewhat unclear about the situation, stealthily activated hidden mode and sat down to watch the excitement.

As Sun Jack sitting at the head of the table had a thought, a three-dimensional hologram of the exploding building appeared in the middle of the conference table, displayed to everyone present.

Everything he had seen before was replayed in front of everyone.

Sun Jack scanned the faces of everyone and asked with a grim look, "Who did something?"

At first, no one answered, and seeing that no one spoke up, Abu folded her arms across her chest and let out a cold laugh, "What's this got to do with us? How could you blame us for this? Wasn't this your own order?"

No sooner had she finished speaking than she felt a chill down her spine.

The next second, "Bang!" Sun Jack's mechanical arm grabbed Abu's head and violently smashed it onto the table; accompanied by the cracking of glass, blood began to spread across the entire tabletop.

Then, the cold barrel of a gun was pressed directly into Abu's mouth, "What? You think I'm an idiot? You really think I don't know what you're thinking? You seriously thought I wouldn't notice that you saw my rule as a chance to over-execute my orders and try to pull the wool over my eyes?"

"You fucking think my words are to be farted away? You really think I don't dare to kill?"

"Fuck! Let go of my brother!" Seeing his sister in danger, Steelheart immediately became agitated, his Combat Prosthesis activating instantly. However, the next moment, malfunctioning noise instantly filled his system interface, and all of Steelheart's prosthetic body failed.

Tapai walked over and patted the lion head of Steelheart, "Calm down, little kitty."

Seemingly aware of Sun Jack's murderous intent, Abu struggled to speak, "It wasn't me! My brother and I are in charge of security! The BCPD should suspect Hanks! That's his area of responsibility!"

Sun Jack removed the gun barrel from Abu's mouth and abruptly turned to look at Hanks.

At this moment, Hanks, startled by Sun Jack's ferocious expression, quickly raised his hands and said, "Not me, Boss! It wasn't you, it's for the investigation! Oh! Right! It must have been Old Six's doing!"

"What?"

"That's right! It's always someone else's doing! It's got fucking nothing to do with you all? I'm telling you, this isn't over! I must have a result!!" Sun Jack's roar was deafening, sending a shiver down the spine of everyone present.
