Cold, hungry, dark—Sun Jack used his own body's senses to feel everything around him, not knowing where he was or what had even happened.
He only remembered that the last moment he was conscious, the Holy Grail had collapsed, and he had fallen from it, landing in the palm of that Buddha statue before losing consciousness and remembering nothing else.
Logically, having Nanoworms in his body, he should not be able to upload his consciousness, and in that condition, he should have died.
He wasn't afraid of dying; on the contrary, having witnessed the fall of the Holy Grail, he felt he had died a fulfilled death.
But now the problem was that he was somehow still alive, and moreover, captured by someone. What did they intend to do with him?
"Is anyone there? Who has captured me? Let's talk, shall we? What do you want?" Sun Jack shouted loudly, but the surrounding darkness didn't respond at all.
It seemed they just wanted to keep him imprisoned forever.
"The only ones who would target me are either the DNA Innovators or the Mechanical Conservative Faction, neither of which should keep me imprisoned like this forever," Sun Jack thought to himself.
"Stop shouting, they won't release you," a muffled voice came from behind the wall.
Upon hearing this, Sun Jack's heart leaped with hope. It seemed there was another person imprisoned next to him.
"Who are you? Do you know where we are?" Sun Jack shouted back.
"This is a prison, where else could it be? So stop making noise, don't expect to get out, you're never leaving, you'll be trapped here for a lifetime."
But Sun Jack didn't think so; it would have been fine if he were dead, but being alive and motionless would be unbearable; wasn't that turning into a statue?
He first felt the restraints on his limbs, which oddly felt like metallic handcuffs and shackles.
Quickly adjusting the muscle distribution around his wrists, Sun Jack slowly started to withdraw his hands from the restraints.
However, as Sun Jack's hands thinned, the cuff also continuously shrank.
Even when he adjusted his muscles to the most extreme extent, he still could not break free.
"Damn! What kind of crap is this!" As Sun Jack relaxed his muscle control, the cuff dug deeply into his flesh.
One method having failed, Sun Jack devised another, beginning to shut off his pain perception, then rapidly twisting his left hand.
Soon, the skin at his wrists rubbed raw, but fortunately, Sun Jack had already shut off the blood flow, preventing excessive bleeding.
After the skin, it was the muscles, veins, nerves, and bones, being sanded away layer by layer. Although it was incredibly slow and exhausting, the effect was significant, and soon, both of his hands were worn off.
Having lost both hands, Sun Jack escaped the upper body restraints, quickly bent down, and connected the severed wrists to the stumps.
With Sun Jack's exceptional healing ability activated, the severed hands quickly regained blood color and grew back onto his body, DNA reprogramming making reattachment possible.
With his hands now free again, Sun Jack repeated the process for his feet, finally freeing himself from the bodily restraints.
Having regained his freedom, Sun Jack took a deep breath and wobbled forward, groping the walls with his barely regrown limbs.
As he carefully explored, he realized he was in a cell about ten square meters, with a cold fence directly opposite him.
Peering through the fence into the pitch darkness, he could see nothing, even when he activated the night vision mode of his eyes.
"Where the hell am I? Why am I imprisoned here by myself?" Sun Jack didn't have time to ponder these questions, as his only focus now was to escape from this place.
Accompanied by the crackling of his bones, Sun Jack's body squeezed through the narrow bars as if performing the Bone Shrinking Technique.
After getting out, he didn't immediately flee but instead started feeling around to his left and right. When he found, as he expected, that both sides were lined with rows of cells, he thought for a moment and then whispered to the cages, "Don't worry! I'll get you out soon!"
Sun Jack wasn't particularly kind-hearted; he mainly thought that the more people there were, the higher the chances of a successful escape.
He didn't need to run far, just to a place with a signal, to make contact with the Clone and the Sky-base Weapon.
He could even regain his freedom by just reconnecting and transmitting his consciousness directly into the Clone's body.
"Stop fussing. If you're going to run, then run. I'm not running. I won't go even if you open the door," the aged voice rang out again, causing Sun Jack to pause. "Why not run? Do you actually like it here?"
However, this time, the voice didn't respond any further, seemingly too lazy to explain.
"Damn it!" Sun Jack simply gave up on him and ran toward the other bars, continuously knocking, trying to find more allies for the escape.
However, to his surprise, no one seemed willing to flee, and scarcely anyone even responded to him.
Just as he approached another cell door, he instinctively took several steps back as a sudden, fierce tug came from inside the bars. When he regained his senses, he realized that his right arm had been completely severed.
The shocked Sun Jack reached out to touch the jagged, messy wound, and his pupils shrank instantly.
"No, this can't be caused by a human. This place doesn't just imprison people!"
Sun Jack had thought that the prison was full of humans, or serious criminals like himself, but he could no longer be sure of the prison's true purpose.
Just then, a door in the distance suddenly opened, and a hazy white light shone in from outside. "Someone's coming in from outside!"
Tensing all the muscles in his body, Sun Jack looked around quickly and climbed swiftly up the bars, hiding in the dark corner between the ceiling and the fence.
Watching as four spherical metallic devices floated slowly forward, Sun Jack didn't dare breathe, afraid of being detected by these devices.
He adjusted his posture, hooking his feet on the bars, and silently moved towards the door.
The spherical metallic devices reached Sun Jack's cell and suddenly stopped.
At that moment, Sun Jack's heartbeat seemed to stop as well, seeing that these devices had discovered his escape. He dashed at top speed to the outside of the prison and, in a flash, the bright lights outside made it impossible for him to keep his eyes open.
Quickly, Sun Jack's eyes adjusted, and the first thing he saw was a gear logo with a big blue uppercase "F" in the middle.
