Having understood the whole story, Dadapami immediately offered his sincere apologies to Malin. Malin didn't have much to say in return; he too had wanted what was best for Matilda, although his methods were somewhat rough and he hadn't managed to grasp the situation fully. But when Malin put himself in the other's shoes, he had to admit that if he had found the girl he secretly loved crying in the arms of another man, he probably would have been furious as well.
But come on, kid, don't you know how to comfort someone? Listen to this guy saying things like "Your grandfather's soul will return to the Golden Prairie, and one day, we'll meet there again"... Can't you pick something nicer to say... Watching Matilda use the kid's jacket as a handkerchief, Malin finally couldn't help it.
This guy was more than just an emotionally clueless man; he was completely hopeless.
