Then Li Pan hesitated no more, pulling out two fragmentation grenades from his opponent's arms and tossing them into the ranks of soldiers.

These men were each wearing SBS infantry protection gear; two grenades wouldn't kill many of them, at most just blowing off a few legs, enough to leave them dizzy and disoriented.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Li Pan charged forward. While the infantry split into groups and set up a defensive line according to their drill protocols, he melded into the crowd. With snaky movements, he swiftly approached a soldier who was isolated at the rear, threw a whip punch with a raised hand, turned his fingers into claws and gouged out the soldier's eyes as easily as if he was scooping tofu, tearing off half of the soldier's face in the process.
