Li Pan nodded, "The 'door', it's probably the kind you can tell at a glance. Last time it was on the ceiling... oh."
Li Pan suddenly realized, squatted down, and began feeling around in the mud.
The area was empty in all directions, as far as the eye could see. If there were a door or a keyhole, it would likely be immediately visible. But since it wasn't visible now, maybe the 'door' was hidden under the mud.
"Can you see this key? You look around too, for any keyholes."
The water was truly cold, definitely below freezing point, so it was probably not really 'water'. When Li Pan dipped his right hand in, he felt pain shooting right to his heart after just two touches, and so he had to switch hands to keep searching.
Meanwhile, Nana looked up at the sky and suddenly spoke.
"This isn't Earth. It isn't the QVN network either."
"Ah, what? How do you know?"
