"Quit playing games."
Langman's lips curled with disdain as she accused, "You're in control of the House of Congressmen. With just one command from you, it wouldn't have been so hard to win seats over at the Internal Revenue Service. But what have you done these past few days?"
"Langman is right. This bill is already being drafted, and it's going to be laid before Congress soon. You can't remain inactive any longer, Nancy!"
The Senator representing the Illuminati immediately followed up with pressure.
"Haha, I've green-lit your previous hearings. It's not my fault you failed to succeed. After I heard about the bill, I did a lot too. What more do you want?"
"Remember, the dispute right now is between you and the Internal Revenue Service. I can only do what I should. I can't actually go to war for you!"
Nancy wasn't foolish. After speaking with David once before, she knew he might have something on her.
She was about to retire and didn't want to get embroiled in this mess.
