As Murdoch was daydreaming, a loud noise startled him; he looked up and saw his secretary had barged in. He immediately asked displeased, "How many times have I told you, you must knock before entering!"
"Mr. Murdoch, our news corporation has been declared under investigation!"
"What?"
Murdoch was stunned on the spot, his face full of disbelief.
He certainly knew David was formidable, yet he had chosen to confront him because he knew that in America, freedom of the press was very important.
So, he had been certain before acting that even if David wanted to move against him, the higher-ups at the Internal Revenue Service would stop him.
But now, David dared to move against him?
Isn't he afraid of condemnation, retaliation, and suppression of press freedom?
Even if David had gone mad, had the high-ranking officials of the IRS gone mad as well?
