Just as Bellamy was about to say something else, the door was pushed open with a bang, and an inspector rushed in, saying, "Director David, the GCO funds—the director has ordered Lance, the Tax Investigator, to personally take over. Right now, it's going through the unfreezing process..."
Hearing this, Bellamy turned ashen, slumping into his chair weakly and lifelessly.
It seemed that their director, was so afraid that he would try to stall for time or mess things up that he had personally decided to take over the unfreezing work.
That meant the evidence David held in his hand must have had an even greater impact on their director than he had imagined.
