At the cost of sacrificing 19 people, they successfully cleared 2 of them.
The surviving 25 "Vanguards," aside from the 8 who were severely wounded, the remaining 17 all rushed to the final Secret Realm.
To date, no one has returned.
But this does not mean they have been sacrificed.
Because the Secret Realm they went to, the place known as Secret Realm No. 1, is still quietly waiting there at this moment, yearning for the next batch of warriors to arrive.
So, theoretically speaking, the "Seventeen Vanguards" may still be alive, if anyone could maintain their sanity after a journey of 21 years in the Secret Realm.
But that's just wishful thinking.
The names of the "Seventeen Vanguards" have long been engraved on the monument, along with their 132 comrades, for people to look up to forever.
And this is precisely the origin of the term "Vanguard."
