The species resembling sea urchins were known as the Babel Race, and Luosa was a member of this race.
About eight hundred years ago, he was transformed into a mechanical life form; and to prevent his revival or recovery of sanity, Luosa and his confidants were all subjected to the most thorough and cruel modification surgeries. Their nerves were completely stripped from their flesh, and over sixty percent of their brain systems were severed, erasing almost all memories and much of their cognition.
Originally, Luosa and his confidants were to be killed, but the Babel Race's high echelon wanted to keep them alive to be tormented, hence these surgeries. From that time on, Luosa completely lost his cognition and consciousness,
