He was unable to lead his group through the surface of the conglomerate entity to the material world. A cognitive-like blockade layer impeded him, one that even the use of his Cognition couldn't overcome. The connection point to the material world was locked inside the conglomerate entity, forcing him to lead everyone into its interior.
