Seventeen soldiers, transformed into Soul Bodies, had as their final memory the fierce battle to the death against a colossal spectre. In their last moments, their hearts harbored only thoughts of battle, without a hint of cowardice or flight. It was a courage that refused to be conquered by death and a loyalty to their duty as soldiers.
It was exactly this spirit and resolve that made their information extremely solid and tough. Despite having died so long ago, their information remained intact, which is why they could be restored to Soul Bodies under the influence of the Colorless Light Particles—essentially bodies composed of dark matter particles—not so different from ordinary people, apart from the foundational particles they're made of.
