In this moment of utmost despair, the Martians' Second Plan was set into motion!
Through extremely terrifying biological technologies, especially their research into the Dark Matter World and the technology obtained from the unnamed outer beings, as well as the unknown particles provided by the Martian's Ling before it went mad, they created numerous bizarre creatures!
These creatures were all related to the Dark Matter World, such as mountainous, fluid flesh-block creatures that could devour entire mountain ranges and then decompose and smelt them within their bodies to extract useful minerals and the like.
Or the enormous gas-bag creatures that could absorb a tenth of Mars' water in one go.
Then there were the massive flesh-blanket creatures, which could, within the range they entirely enveloped, shield Dark Matter informational connections to a limited extent, effectively slowing down the civilization's dimensional descent.
