Master Chao Du nodded, not saying much more. Summoning a carapace to protect his body, he walked towards the pool.
"Wei, you wait for us outside," Lin Shen handed his backpack to Wei.
"I... want to go down..." Wei Wufu did not reach out to take the backpack, intending to join Lin Shen and the others in their descent.
"Alright." Lin Shen did not allow Wei Wufu to go down, not because he needed him to stay above, but because Wei Wufu had a bit of fear of water.
The three of them followed Master Chao Du into the water. Lin Shen and Wei Wufu climbed down using the roots of the Buddha Fruit Tree, and upon submersion, they saw that the pool's water was indeed crystal clear, allowing them to see a great distance away.
The furthest down, Master Chao Du, with his carapace, resembled a golden Buddha, the helm adorned with symbols of the Buddha, and a divine halo of Buddha light at his back, soft golden light illuminating the surroundings.
