The Cultivation World, a colossal besieged fortress.
Those outside want in, for they all believe that once they enter the Cultivation World, one foot steps through the Gate of Immortality and the other into riches and honour. Yet, those inside look out and can only think of the outsiders as...
Quite the players.
In Zhuge Qing's memory, the Cultivation World had always been eternally heavy and unchanging. To be an immortal was to have mountains weigh upon one's shoulders, suppressing all emotions and desires; this was the vision of immortality within the Cultivation World.
They pursued the Immortal Path not because they held it in their hearts, but because it offered them longevity and made them unbeatable under the heavens. Thus, the hierarchy on the Immortal Path was extremely strict; if you spent less time cultivating and comprehended less of the Immortal Dao, you were deemed to be inferior and were expected to submit.
That's all there was to it.
