Chapter 103 - Arrival at Embercliff! The Last Stand!

Continuing through the desert, Michael, Xavier, and Trya continue to face multiple obstacles as they advance through the unforgiving desert. Although many battles and bloodshed have been cast along the racetrack, they continue their voyage in peace, being one of the top race leaders. But when a familiar face appears on the racetrack, will everyone be able to survive, or would they burn in hell?

"Hello, folks! Welcome to the final phase of the Great Dune Dash!" Lopez said happily. "Currently, we have 2 racers approaching the finish line situated in Embercliff who go by the names Michael, Trya Velasquez, and as a runner up, Itama Kawasaki! These racers continue to race to the place where it all ends, holding 10,000 dollars on the line simultaneously-" Suddenly, the Great Dune Dash programming was stopped for an ad break. Glancing at the TV, Kevin sighed. "It's good that Gerald's okay, but he has some competition…" Gerald, filling his mouth with cotton candy, smiled. "If Michael wins, he's rich!" he mumbled, trying to stuff the entire box in his mouth. Back at the presidents' office, Jayden still stood in mere shock of the new president of the Underground City. "I didn't know he was still alive…" he thought to himself, looking at the newspaper for even more verification. To his surprise, it was true. Sweating brutally, Jayden slammed his hands on his desk. "First I gain suspicion on the Land of Trila, now Scalia?" Sighing, he proceeded to take his mind off of the new presidency by doing what he did best - writing. "Maybe I should take a vacation…" he thought to himself. Despite the rain that poured on the city, Jayden continued to glimpse outside every few minutes, thinking of the answer to why "this man" would be chosen out of all people to administrate the Underground City. And the question still stood about the Nahata Pact - why was it so bad for the other superpower regions? Back in Death Desert, Xavier's phantom finally resurfaced 1 mile off the territory of Embercliff. "We're back on ground level!" Xavier exclaimed happily. Sighing, Michael looked at the damaged city with concern. "The city has been thrown into a pure uproar since our departure from Death Desert to the World Summit… Happily, that's over now. As Trya continued to smile for god knows what, Michael continued to imagine what the wonders of the finish line held. "Was it a gold medal AND a trophy, along with the prize? Or was it just a trophy and the prize…" Suddenly, Trya's smile turned to a formal frown. "Michael, you're a fool." she muttered.

Michael scoffed. "Wh-" Suddenly, Trya charged at Michael with the pocket knife that she hid deep in her pocket. "I WASN'T THE REAL TRYA! I WAS…" As her face faded back into her original and real face, Michael was left frozen. "Who the hell are YO-"

Suddenly, a knife was sent plunging into the body of the impostor, leaving them falling onto the ground in agony. The real Trya wiped her hands. "Sorry I'm late, I got kidnapped on my way back…"

Xavier stopped the phantom. "By who…? Looking outside, he froze once again. "Is that LAW ENFORCEMENT? How did they get on the race property!?" Suddenly, King Raja's voice could be heard by a loudspeaker. "Trya Velasquez and Xavier Velasquez! As you signed up for this annual race, you didn't fully read the CONTRACT!" Xavier, trying to count all of the surrounding soldiers, scoffed. "Although you're making a big lead currently, the contract listed that we would be coming for the most VALUABLE criminals in the race! And what do you know, YOU ended up there!" Trya sighed. "What do we do now, Xavier?" "Don't worry, sis, I think we'll find a plan easil-"

"FIRE!" Raja exclaimed. As the gunshots hit the phantom protecting everyone, Xavier continued to lie on the ground in pain. "If the phantom takes the gunshots… I get AFFECTED TOO!" Michael scoffed. "Make it disappear, quick!" he exclaimed, concerned for Xavier's wellbeing. Crossing his hands, he ordered one of his many units back into his body, looking back at the battlefield. "You finally came out from your hiding place! As they all say, those who mess with the Death Desert Government PAY!" Suddenly, Raja charged up to the trio with his sword, ready to cut their flesh in half. Transforming into Snakella once again, Trya jumped at Raja, but he was able to cut her snakes in half, leaving them all on the floor, headless. Pulling out a gun, Raja smiled. "You're a prime target, Trya. Maybe your father should've been a better man instead of gaining the highest bounty in the world!"

After his speech, he shot Trya in the head, barely missing her brain. Looking at Raja with contempt, she plummeted onto the ground before Xavier and Michael. "TRYA!" Michael exclaimed, his anger growing even more between his opponents. "You had the AUDACITY to shoot one of my friends in the HEAD!?" he said. Despite ignoring his speech, Raja continued to detect the massive amount of power that Michael held. "Damn it, this is no average kid… He maintained a bounty of about 6 million along with his best friends back in Embercliff…" Holding up the gun to Michael's head left him a little startled, but deep down inside, he was filled with confidence. Slapping the gun out of his hand, he continued to growl in anger viciously. "Xavier, our operation has changed. Now, we have one objective!" Xavier frowned. "Trya's been shot. The dash can hold for now, but we have to split up after we finish the battle, Michael. This may be the last time we meet, but it was fun while it lasted." he muttered, waiting for his approval. Michael smiled. "Yeah. Anyway, time to knock out this entire fleet!" Xavier smiled once again, looking at the entire army. "I like your taste, kid." Adjusting his sweater, Michael smiled. "Time to kick some ass!"
