Chapter 18 - Mt. Tai

"Kill him!" the young master ordered. "Keep the woman alive."

Immediately, a man standing behind him shot towards Yun Wuji with incredible speed.

"Someone provoked Young Master Kang!"

"That woman is so beautiful; they're unlucky to have caught his attention."

"Sigh, that handsome man is going to die, and his woman will be taken too."

Amid the commotion, passersby began to discuss, but none dared to intervene or provoke Xiao Kang.

"Worm," Yun Wuji muttered as he gazed at the approaching man, his eyes gleaming with sword light shooting out from them.

"What?!" the man suddenly shouted in horror. Although he was fast, his speed was only impressive to those at the True Profound Realm. To someone like Wuji, he seemed like a crawling worm.

"Euh..?" a tiny wound appeared on his forehead with blood streaming down.

Thud!

His body split into two halves before he could react. Blood and organs splashed to the ground.

"What?!"

"He is dead!"

"What happened?! How could he die suddenly!"

The crowd was terrified by what happened and did what they did best: commentating.

"Now that your protector is dead, what are you going to do?" Yun Wuji glanced at the young master with a mocking smile. "Are you going to bring up your sect's name?"

"What are you planning to do?" The young master stumbled, falling to the ground, his face pale with fear. "You can't kill me! Do you know who I am?"

"I don't?" Yun Wuji shook his head, approaching him slowly while maintaining his smile. "But do you know who I am?"

"Who-who are you?" he asked, his voice trembling.

Yun Wuji chuckled, his smile widening. "Just a nobody you should've never messed with."

Swoosh!

Sword lights shot out directly from Yun Wuji's eyes, severing the young master's limbs.

"Agh!!!" he screamed in agony, his voice echoing through the street, "My legs!!! My arms!!!!"

He regretted provoking him.

He hated himself for his greed, for coveting another man's woman.

"Please don't kill me!" he pleaded, looking desperately at the smiling man in front of him. "My father is the elder of the Xiao Sect. He can give you anything you want!"

"..." Yun Wuji didn't bother replying. This guy still foolishly thinks he can scare him with some measly elder from a third-rate sect.

He waved his hand, and a gust of wind surrounded the young master, lifting him into the air.

"Agh! What are you doing!" the limbless young master screamed in pain.

"One more word and I'll cut off your head as well," Wuji warned coldly.

"..." The young master quickly closed his mouth.

"Let's go," he slashed his hand vertically. Instantly, a rift in space appeared. He entered the crack, followed by the silent Chu Yuechan and the limbless young master.

The Xiao Sect's branch was located at South Moon Mountain.

Above the sect, a crack in space opened, and Wuji and Yuechan walked out, followed by the young master.

Xiao Kang's body was twitching, and his eyes were wide with horror.

It Was At This Moment He Knew... He Fucked Up!

The two people in front of him could fly, which meant they were at least at the Sky Profound Realm!

Sky Profound Real!

This was a realm he had only heard about. The strongest person in their branch sect was only at the Earth Profound Realm!

"What is that?!" a disciple shouted, pointing at the sky.

"Sky Profound Realm! What are they doing here?" another exclaimed, eyes wide with fear and curiosity.

"Isn't that young master Xiao Kang?" a sharp-eyed disciple gasped, recognizing the terrified young master behind the duo.

"Quick, inform the sect master!" they shouted, racing towards the main building.

But before they could move, an overwhelming aura crashed down on the entire sect, pinning them in place and making it hard to breathe. The air grew thick with pressure, and fear etched across their faces.

"Are you going to destroy this sect?" Yuechan, who had been silent until now, asked Wuji as she saw him releasing his aura.

"Nah, who do you take me for? Yun Che?" Yun Wuji shook his head. He couldn't possibly kill irrelevant people just because an ignorant young master offended him. But they would definitely need to pay the price for provoking him.

"Yun Che? Who is that?" she asked curiously. They seemed to share the same surname, so she wondered if they might be related.

"It's just a guy I know. He has a knack for massacring all his enemies," he replied casually.

At that moment, Xiao Tiannan and a dozen elders hurriedly rushed over from the main building, their faces a mask of horror as they saw the duo hovering in the sky with Xiao Kang standing behind them.

"Kang'er!" shouted one of the elders, who happened to be the young master's father.

"Who are you, sir? May I know what you want?" The sect master calmed himself and quickly bowed, asking respectfully. He struggled to breathe; the pressure emanating from Yun Wuji was overwhelmingly terrifying.

"I am here to collect my fees," Yun Wuji said casually, tossing the young master towards the sect master.

"Ah!" His father quickly caught him before he fell to the ground, nearly fainting at the sight of his son's condition. He pointed angrily at Wuji, who hovered in the air. "You! How dare you do this to my son!"

"Silence!" Sect master Xiao Tiannan's hand slapped the elder's face, cutting off his words abruptly. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he cursed the elder under his breath. The man before them was clearly of Sky Profound Realm at least, his aura far surpassing even the esteemed elders of their main branch.

"Hmm, I see where your son gets his 'talent' from," Yun Wuji said, nodding at the father and son as if he'd unraveled a mystery.

"A protection fee?" Before the mad father could respond, Xiao Tiannan interjected, maintaining a low posture as he asked.

"Protection fee is obviously protection fee, your esteemed disciple just suggested we protect you from us," Yun Wuji explained patiently, smiling warmly.

"WTF?!" the other elders couldn't help but curse under their breaths.

"Of course, we're honored to have your esteemed protection!" Xiao Tiannan tried to keep his cool as he responded.

"Sect master! What are you doing?" At that moment, the father of the young master interjected, "They come to our doorstep to extort us, and you're letting them trample on our face, the face of the great Xiao Sect! So what if they're from the Sky Profound Realm? We are the Xiao Sect; we don't have to fear them! The main branch has more than one of them!"

The father had long lost his sanity when he saw his son; he had always spoiled him, letting him do whatever he wanted without any consideration. How could he possibly bear to see him in this situation?!

"Shut up!" Xiao Tiannan slapped the elder once more, swiftly silencing him.

While it's true that the main sect had many Sky Profound Realm and even Emperor Profound Realm cultivators, the crucial point is that this isn't the main branch. If they provoke this duo, by the time the main branch hears about it, they would have already been long dead.

"Good! I like your courage!" Yun Wuji, who had been watching the scene unfold, suddenly extended his hand, forming a palm.

"What?" Xiao Tiannan and the others looked at him in confusion.

A powerful force gathered in his palm, and soon a giant silver palm materialized, hurtling straight toward them.

Boom!

"Wait! Ahh!" Xiao Tiannan shouted in despair, but his words were cut short as the palm crashed into the sect, unleashing a thunderous explosion that reverberated through the entire city.

The attack left a deep imprint of a palm on the ground.

"Ahh!"

"My legs!"

Loud cries of agony echoed throughout the entire sect. Many buildings were demolished—beautiful pavilions and majestic towers reduced to ruins.

"Argh, what happened? Wait! I'm still alive?" Xiao Tiannan opened his eyes in disbelief. He hadn't expected to survive; the earlier attack could have killed him a hundred times over, yet he had only sustained severe injuries. With great effort, he struggled to his feet and surveyed his surroundings.

"I'm alive!" He noticed that the other elders, despite their severe injuries, were also alive.

"We actually survived?" They exchanged incredulous glances before turning their gaze upward at the duo still hovering in the sky.

"Kong'er, no!" The father of the young master howled, grief-stricken as he looked upon his deceased son.

Everyone present was injured to some extent, but the young master was the only one who didn't survive.

Wuji had absolute control over his profound strength, making it easy for him to decide whom to kill and whom to spare.

"You! You killed my son!" He glared at Wuji with eyes full of resentment. "Why? Why are you so cruel?"

"Cruel? Your worthless son had eyes but couldn't see Mt. Tai," Yun Wuji retorted. "He tried to kill me and take my women. Consider yourself lucky that I'm in a good mood today and didn't crush your pathetic sect."

"I'm not going to kill you today. I just want you to understand that there are people you can't afford to offend, and I'm one of them. If I'm in a bad mood, I'll wipe out you, your family, and your entire sect, even if you just look at me the wrong way." Floating above the sect, Wuji looked down at them and said with an indifferent tone.

"Now, give me my fees!"
