AURELIA'S POV:
My heart skips a beat as I try to remain as quiet as possible. They can't know I'm here. But if I don't do anything, they may kill Lucy, and I won't be able to forgive myself if that happens.
Lucy is currently on her knees, and one of the men whose name is Owen is holding a gun to her head. Their faces are stoic and their expressions are flat meanwhile Lucy is sobbing rather loudly.
Money is scattered before all of them while some bills are clasped tightly in Lucy's palm. I have a choice to make, and a hard one at that.
Going out there might put me in danger, but that has been the theme of my life for some time now, what difference will one more day make?
I can't allow the woman that has impacted my life so greatly be harmed right in front of me.
"One order of pancakes and maple syrup coming up." I say in a feigned cheerful tone as I push the door open.
