The crowd starts murmuring, a lot of them staring at me with renewed interests. Once again, I've made the wrong choice, putting myself in more trouble than necessary.
When I had spat Alessandro's name out, I had expected them to cower in fear and return me back in one piece, I had clearly misjudged the situation.
Now, don't get me wrong, there was definitely fear present in their gazes as they glared at me, but their love for money and the thoughts of how much they could make off me, prevented them from acting on those feelings of fear.
At this point, the crowd is almost at a frenzy, and then the bidding starts. I hear one of the men call out a hundred thousand dollars, and I can't help but gasp in shock.
