Chapter 5 - Training exercise

Just like he thought, Kakashi smiled under his mask, sensing the excitement of the upcoming training exercise. "Okay guys, we're going to have a training exercise," he announced. "I advise you not to eat beforehand, or you might puke."

As he said this, he noticed Naruto standing up and extending his hand towards Ino. She grabbed it, and they both exchanged a knowing look. Sasuke, still seated, stood up slowly, his eyes determined. He began walking towards the stairs, clenching his fists in frustration. "I'll make sure Kakashi-sensei teaches me everything," he muttered under his breath, unaware that Kakashi was already observing each of their movements with keen interest.

Kakashi noted how Naruto and Ino spent their time together, wandering around and relaxing, while Sasuke retreated to the Uchiha compound to train intensely. "Sasuke must be getting stronger with all that training," Kakashi thought, "but we'll see how he performs in the test."

When the day of the bell test arrived, Sasuke was punctual, standing alone at the meeting spot. An hour passed, then two, then three, and still, no one else showed up. Growing increasingly irritated, Sasuke fumed, "What the hell? Where are they?"

At last, Kakashi appeared with a casual wave. "Yo!" he greeted, seeing only Sasuke's angry glare. "Where were you? I've been waiting here for three hours!" Sasuke snapped.

"Well, sorry," Kakashi replied with a shrug. "A black cat crossed my path, so I had to take a longer route."

"And my teammates?" Sasuke demanded.

"I don't know," Kakashi said, just as a sudden whirlwind brought Naruto and Ino to the scene. "You're late," Kakashi noted, looking at them.

"Sorry," Naruto said with a grin. "We got lost on the path of life."

Kakashi chuckled at the excuse, recognizing his own brand of humor. "Alright," he began, explaining the bell test. "You need to take these bells from me by noon, or you won't get any dinner. I'll eat my food in front of you."

The three nodded, and at Kakashi's command to scatter, Naruto swiftly disappeared into the forest. Kakashi noted that while he could sense Sasuke and Ino, Naruto's presence was undetectable. "Interesting," Kakashi thought, "Naruto Uzumaki is full of surprises."

Kakashi started reading his book, but soon felt a sudden presence behind him. He turned quickly, only to be hit square in the chest by a powerful kick that sent him flying. Catching himself mid-air, Kakashi looked back but saw no one. "What?"

He felt another presence beneath him. Too late, two hands grabbed his ankle and pulled him downward. Using the Headhunter Jutsu, Naruto had managed to catch Kakashi off guard. By the time Kakashi realized what was happening, he replaced himself with a log using the Substitution Jutsu, landing a safe distance away. Putting his book aside, he focused, trying to identify his unseen assailant.

"Naruto," he murmured, suspecting the blond ninja. He could still sense Ino and Sasuke, but Naruto was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, he felt another presence behind him and swung around to punch, but hit nothing. Another kick landed on his back, sending him flying again.

"Damn, this kid is good," Kakashi thought, standing up and scanning the area. "Where are you, Naruto?"

Kakashi, growing frustrated at the relentless unseen attacks, decided to up his game. "I've had enough of this," he muttered, pulling up his headband to reveal his Sharingan. The legendary red eye glinted in the light, causing Sasuke to gasp.

"How do you have the Sharingan?" Sasuke wondered, but he knew now wasn't the time to confront Kakashi about it. He needed to focus on figuring out Naruto's chakra nature, but no matter how hard he tried, Naruto's chakra was undetectable.

Suddenly, Kakashi saw a massive fireball descending from above. He dodged quickly, expecting to see Naruto, but once again, there was no one. His frustration increased as he was then hit by wind bullets from seemingly nowhere. Unable to see or sense Naruto releasing the attacks, Kakashi substituted himself just in time to avoid the wind bullets, which smashed into a log.

Breathing heavily, Kakashi thought, "This Genin can already change his chakra nature?" As he pondered this, a punch connected with his face, sending him flying. He caught himself mid-air, but Naruto had disappeared once again.

"Damn it!" Kakashi shouted, making quick hand signs. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" He launched a fireball at the location of the last attack, hoping to flush out Naruto. Despite his efforts, he was still being attacked from all sides with no sign of his opponent.

Ino, watching the battle, smiled at Naruto's skill. Suddenly, Naruto appeared above Kakashi, calling out, "Lightning Style: Lightning Stream!" A bolt of lightning shot towards Kakashi, who managed to dodge and dash towards Naruto. He leaped into the air, aiming a punch at Naruto, but the hit connected with a shadow clone, which dispersed into smoke.

Kakashi cursed his luck, only to see the real Naruto beneath him, already forming hand signs. "Wind Style: Wind Dragon Jutsu!" Naruto declared. A powerful, invisible wind dragon spiraled towards Kakashi, completely engulfing him. The sheer force of the attack left Kakashi with scratches and bruises all over his body.

As Kakashi struggled to maintain his balance, he thought, "This kid is incredible. His strategy, his use of clones, his mastery of chakra nature transformation... he's already so advanced."

Naruto landed gracefully, his eyes locked on Kakashi. "Sensei, you said to take the bells, right?" he said, a determined grin on his face.

Kakashi, bleeding and winded, managed to ask, "What kind of jutsu was that?" before he was met with a final, powerful kick to his chest, sending him sprawling. Naruto appeared above him, snatching the bells effortlessly.

"Well, Kakashi-sensei, too bad you might not be able to eat today," Naruto said with a grin, holding up the bells triumphantly. He then tossed the bells towards Sasuke and Ino. "I knew this was a teamwork exercise all along, but including you two in my plan would have disrupted it. So, here's how I play teamwork: by giving you the bells."

Sasuke caught his bell, looking back with a mix of frustration and admiration. "Huh, what a drag. Sasuke, I believe you can handle this, right?" Naruto teased.

Before Sasuke could respond, Naruto put a hand on Ino's shoulder. "Good job, Ino," he said, giving her a reassuring smile. Sasuke cursed under his breath, irritated at how effortlessly Naruto handled the situation.

Sasuke grumbled, "I'll show you, Naruto." He then put Kakashi on his back and began to drag him towards the hospital, fuming with thoughts of revenge and determination. "Naruto, I will destroy you. I'll get stronger, kill my brother, and then I'll kill you."

Days passed as Kakashi took time to recover from his injuries. The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, remained in his office, expecting a report of failure from Kakashi. On the second day, Kakashi burst into the Hokage's office with unusual urgency.

"Lord Third!" Kakashi shouted, startling the ANBU guards into action.

"did old man died"thought startled ANBU'S

Hiruzen quickly calmed them, "It's just Kakashi. Stand down." Turning to Kakashi, he asked, "What happened? Why did you enter so urgently?"

Kakashi, catching his breath, began his report. "I have to tell you about Naruto Uzumaki. During the bell test, I couldn't see or sense him at all, even with my Sharingan. He used incredibly dangerous techniques, including a Wind Dragon Jutsu. There's no recorded technique like it."

Hiruzen's eyes widened. "A Wind Dragon? Are you certain?"

"Yes, he clearly used it. I couldn't see the dragon, but I felt its impact. It was unlike anything I've experienced," Kakashi explained, wincing at the memory. "Naruto was the dead last in the academy, yet he suddenly became Rookie of the Year. He gave me a real challenge."

The Third Hokage pondered this information. "The civilian council has always underestimated him. It seems Naruto has been hiding a lot of his true potential."

"Indeed, Lord Third. I'm a bit ashamed to say it, but that kid is already beyond most Genin," Kakashi admitted.

Hiruzen nodded thoughtfully. "Kakashi, I want you to keep a close eye on Naruto. Ensure he doesn't get into unnecessary trouble, especially with the council. We need to monitor his growth carefully."

Kakashi agreed, "Understood. I'll keep a close watch on him."

As Kakashi left, Hiruzen leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. "Naruto Uzumaki... you are truly full of surprises. I hope the village is ready for what you will become."
