Chapter 1 - A bird, a plane, no! It's a fucking dragon!

In primordial era where souls or spirits alike still lurk the groundless, uninhabited surface of earth, there was a pact made between 7 Gods each representing their future creation:

God of Elves

God of Dragons

Goddess of Demons

Goddess of Beasts

Goddess of Humans

God of Titans

God of Dwarves

Each of these Gods swore an oath under the name of the Divinity to ensure prosperity and peace amongst their kin for the next 200,000 years. With given time, they were able to develop and gain enough sentience to proceed with their advanced civilized mind.

Some, like humans, took time to adapt and develop, while other races were able to create a civilization, like the Dwarves and Elves sooner than their counterparts.

Throughout history, certain races were destined to clash with their own kind, leading to inevitable conflicts. Humans waged wars against Neanderthals, while Elves engaged in fierce battles with their Dark Elf counterparts. Demons and Vampires found themselves in a relentless struggle for dominance, and the colossal might of Giants was often pitted against the equally formidable Titans. These disputes, however, didn't always last long. In some cases, one group was eradicated entirely, while in others, a delicate harmony was forged, bringing an end to the hostilities.

[Erika, Goddess of Humanity, it seems the time has come to open the gates and determine who will succeed His Divinity,] a disembodied voice echoed through the void, defying the very laws of physics.

[So it seems, Verenor of the Elves, but I see no reason for our worlds to clash. My kin abhor violence,] replied a soft, soothing, ladylike voice.

[You still refuse to recognize me as a god, huh? Only the end will reveal if you truly embody the essence of Divinity. Until then, I will ensure the destruction of your race. And remember, direct interference is strictly prohibited, as even His Divinity decreed,] the God of Elves said mockingly.

[Provocations, such a barbaric approach. No wonder Lady Erika still refuses to acknowledge you as one among us,] a grumpy voice responded from another side of the void.

[Oh, shut up. Just because you're the God of those formidable dragons doesn't mean you can dictate to me. You're nothing but their puppets.]

[What did you say!?]

[Enough, both of you! Stop acting like mortals and start preparing for 'that' time. The time has come and here you are squabbling like children,] a commanding voice interjected.

[Myriad, Goddess of Demons, still feeling a little attached to your elder sister, Erika?]

[Do you want to be sucked into a black hole, Verenor, or should I send you to another dimension?]

[HAHAHA!] A hearty laugh came from yet another side of the void.

[Enjoying the show, God of Dwarves?] the God of Titans questioned, his deep voice rumbling through the void.

These are just shorts of the conversation of all the participated Gods within the universe created by the Divinity. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that these are the only gods within the universe. Just that, not much of them joined in fear of the other Gods' intimidating interventions to their worlds.

To them, after all, it may be a mere games, however, it was a process to which will define the very existence itself. Of who will succeed and rule the universe created by the Divinity.

Ring Ring

Instead of the traditional alarm clock, Daren's phone rang in a chaotic ringtone, signaling a phone call. His eyes immediately opens and his body rise from his ever comforting bed when he saw light pass through the window.

'Light?'

"FUCK! I'm late for work!"

Daren Henry, an office worker living in BGC, was an analyst for the newly established international corporations near 5th Avenue. He worked for a newly launched local branch of a renowned German automobile company. Despite having only been hired two weeks ago, he was already facing severe repercussions for being late to work.

However, punishment was the least of his worries. He was supposed to present his current market research, which was crucial for their market opening strategy. This research would be presented by the director himself to the branch manager who had traveled from their homeland. Missing this presentation could severely damage his reputation with the director.

Without a second thought to his hygiene, Daren dashed out the door and hurried to the elevator down the hallway. As he ran, he double-checked the documents he had finished just the night before, stuffing them into his briefcase. Simultaneously, he called his colleague for a situational report, hoping to gather any last-minute updates.

Fortunately, the participants had yet to arrive, the building was just a few ticks away, and the director hadn't yet grown agitated by Daren's shameless tardiness. To him, this felt like a miracle sent by the gods.

Sighing in relief, he watched the elevator doors open and darted towards the revolving door of the condominium, ignoring the receptionist's greetings. With his hair still disheveled and his eyes betraying signs of his haste, he sprinted across the pavement and to the other side of the road where the building he worked in stood.

The clock ticked closer to 9, and the front of the building began to crowd with other branch managers of the corporation. Seeing this, Daren's heart sank, but he forced himself to run as fast as he could.

However, the lack of sleep and depleted energy took its toll on his body, causing him to collapse onto the ground.

"No, no, no... shit, shit, shit!!! Not now!" he muttered desperately.

His phone rang, and when he grabbed it, he saw the name of his director.

"Shit. Guess I'm out."

Feeling tired and hopeless, he remained lying on his back, staring at the clear blue sky being overshadowed by an unknown figure.

"What the fuck is that? A plane? Wait, no. A bird? Hell no, that's too big for a bird!"

"A FUCKING DRAGON IN THE SKY!" he shouted in panic, pointing at the mysterious figure that had become clear to his sight.

Although he felt the need for a mental health check-up, it was evident that he wasn't the only one seeing things. Bystanders around the block raised their heads, confusion striking their faces.

"What is that? A new technology?"

"An attack, perhaps? What about the peace talks?"

Murmurs spread among the people, and enforcers soon arrived to bring order to the growing panic. But clearly, no one could remain calm in the presence of that enormous figure. In comparison, it could even dwarf a Briege 797.
