Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Life is Unpredictable

"Big brother Kun, there's no noise inside anymore, should we go in and check?"

"Tch, what's there to see in there? A piece of F-rank trash having a Mental Outburst, how severe can it get?"

"No, what if she really didn't survive and died? Wouldn't we then lose our source of money?"

"Stop talking nonsense. Do you have the Potion or the cash? You think I don't know about your situation?"

Staccato voices came from outside. In a small sealed room, the girl lying on the floor stretched out her bloodied hand to steady herself on a nearby machine, trying to use it to support her weight.

"Resident of the remote Star 1757, Qu Tong, female, 18 years old, reproductive value 100, physique..."

"Click!" The mechanical voice stopped abruptly, and the transmitting arrow on the screen hadn't yet been sent, flickered twice, then the screen went dark, the metal casing warped to an odd angle by some external force.

What's that sound?

Beep-beep, so annoying.

Qu Tong leaned against the broken machine, looking irritated.

She brushed away the messy hair on her face to reveal half of her blood-stained face, instinctively touching her forehead.

"Hiss~" Qu Tong let out a faint hiss.

What's going on?

Did I fall from my bed and hit my head?

Was the hit this severe?

The similarly bloodied fingertips seemed to flicker with a faint green light, yet the wound showed no signs of healing.

Qu Tong wasn't particularly surprised; she merely covered the wound with her hand first.

Glancing around, she noticed something odd, her eyes stopped momentarily, then quickly regained her composure.

The dull pain in her head wasn't only from the wound but also from the fragments of unfamiliar memories pouring in intermittently.

"What?"

The voices outside suddenly rose, seemingly in surprise.

Apart from the voices of the three men, there seemed to be another woman speaking. Qu Tong didn't catch what was said because the trio had already moved beyond her current spiritual power detection range.

Qu Tong didn't act recklessly, instead sitting on the ground against the machine, waiting for her strength and Special Ability to recover.

Before long, the three returned, kicking the door to the room wide open.

The broad-browed man leading them took one glance, and upon meeting Qu Tong's calm gaze, he breathed a sigh of relief, then spoke in an arrogant tone.

"Good that you're not dead, consider yourself lucky."

He then instructed the two underlings behind him, "Take her back to that rundown house."

"Sure thing, Big brother Kun," the underlings complied, about to go over and pull Qu Tong up.

Qu Tong brushed away their hands and said with a frown, "I can walk by myself."

"Ungrateful! Let her walk by herself, so we don't waste our time. Pfft!" Li Kun waved his hand dismissively.

The skinny underling felt he had lost face, and with a swift kick to Qu Tong's leg, he cursed at her spitefully, "Don't think the Qu Family is picking you up for any good reason. Trash will always be trash...."

His rant was cut short under Qu Tong's cold glance, the shock making him hastily let out a grunt and retreat back to Li Kun's side.

Qu Tong took the kick without showing much reaction, concealing the dark glint in her eyes. She wiped the blood off her face with her sleeve and, using the bit of strength she had regained, pushed herself to stand up and began to walk slowly past the three men, heading for the exit.

"Big brother Kun, look at her!" the skinny one complained resentfully, pointing at Qu Tong's retreating back.

Li Kun's eyes darted around before he said impatiently, "It's fine, the Qu Family is sending someone to pick her up tomorrow. Don't stir up any trouble."

"Yeah, she just went through a Mental Outburst and is weak; if she dies or gets disabled and the lady doesn't find anyone to pick up, they'll tear us apart," another underling timidly chimed in with agreement.

The skinny underling, not daring to vent his frustration at Li Kun, turned his ire on the other, "Always so scared of everything, how can you accomplish anything significant, you wimp."

The flat-headed underling bowed his head, without retorting.

Before the three could leave, a group of burly men rushed towards them.

"Catch them!"

Before they could react, they were pinned to the ground by the crowd, receiving a barrage of punches and kicks.

"Damn it, daring to make trouble on my turf, do you have any idea how expensive a detector is? You'd have to pick trash for ten years and still couldn't afford to pay!" the lead shopkeeper cursed viciously.

In the end, the three were dumbfounded as they were stripped of their possessions and, after repeatedly insisting they knew people from the Qu Family of the main star, promised that their lady would send someone the next day to pay the remainder due.

After signing the debt agreement, the shop owner finally threw the person out.

"Damn, it must have been that good-for-nothing, only she stayed in that room, and then the detector broke," the skinny man wiped his nosebleed, cursing bitterly.

On the other side, Qu Tong finally managed to return to her own decrepit little house, following the trail of her fragmented memory, only to be stopped at the entrance.

She inserted the key but, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't pull the door open, nor could she push it.

Qu Tong squinted her eyes.

"Open sesame?"

Still no response.

Qu Tong tried for a long time, but the relevant memories didn't surface.

Just as Qu Tong was about to give up and break the window,

she stepped back a bit and realized the door seemed familiar.

Qu Tong pondered for a while.

Good lord, it slides!

Isn't this just like a car door?

This is definitely some trash that was picked up from somewhere...

After sliding the door open, the interior was clearly in ruin: a twenty-square-meter room, a bed, two stools, a small window with yellowing frames, and a haphazard pile of scrap metal and dried-up plants, leaving almost no space to stand.

She found a white garment in the only bedside table, tearing it up to crudely dress the wound on her head.

Sitting on the bed, she rested while trying to make sense of the memories that had come flooding into her mind.

The memories weren't complete, but she could grasp the gist of them.

Life is unpredictable; the big intestine wraps around the small intestine.

She died.

Hey, and then she was alive again.

She found herself transported thousands of years into the future, to the year 8046 of the Star Era, in the body of a little orphan girl from the Canaan Empire, and the girl who shared her name and surname had long since died from not being able to survive a Mental Outburst.

The injury on her head was self-inflicted from the pain, and she had scratched open several wounds on herself with her nails.

The original girl had been planning to use the money her brother had transferred to her to buy a Spirit Power Stabilizing Potion, but not knowing that the potion's price had risen to 6000 Star Coins, she encountered Li Kun and his two goons at the store. The trio, who were accustomed to bullying her, took her to a small room and forced her to hand over the 5000 Star Coins from her brother. It just so happened that she experienced a Mental Outburst at that moment, leading to the earlier incident.

Qu Tong felt a moment of dizziness and hunger pangs from her stomach.

Knowing just where to find it, she reached into the bedside table and took out a bottle of pale green Nutrient Solution. Most people in the interstellar age rely on drinking this to maintain bodily functions; the bottle in her hand could last roughly a day.

Qu Tong swallowed it in one gulp.

"Ugh!"

Qu Tong's face screwed up, pinching her neck with an expression that looked as if she had eaten something disgusting.

Damn, that was awful.

Who the hell came up with a bitter gourd-flavored Nutrient Solution? A genius indeed!

How had the little girl managed to bear it before?

Impressive!

Qu Tong stored the remaining half-tube of Nutrient Solution carefully and began rummaging through the rubbish to find a withered tomato seedling and a small flower pot that had long since dried out. She extended her hand over the tomato seedling.

Reading Tips

1. The story involves farming, gourmet food, live streaming, military academy, war, and a romance line. The female protagonist's Wood-element Ability is effective against Mental Outbursts, and although she is a powerhouse, she starts out weak.

2. I only want to write what I like. To each their own. Even if the female protagonist isn't perfect, please respect the author's work, enjoy the story lightheartedly, and there's no need to notify me if you drop the story.

3. I do not write about love at first sight or destined love. Falling for someone requires interaction; it requires being moved. There's no such thing as baseless good or love, so please treat the male protagonist with a calm mind.

4. There will be no abuse; the story will be sweet and full of flattery, with exclusive devotion.

5. Updates twice a day, except under special circumstances; I won't abandon the story.

6. I equally love everyone who clicks in. Comment, leave messages, interact a lot—heehee, I like it, I'm very active.

7. If you have any tickets, feel free to cast them my way. Love you all!
