The temple was lit with candles; the ubiquitous candles made the temple incredibly bright even in the darkness, so people could clearly see the temple's layout.
Shen Yi furrowed his brow slightly. Why had he come to such a place?
Despite his inner puzzlement, he couldn't help but step by step walk further in. The temple wasn't large, but in the yard grew a tree full of life and vigor.
Many red silk ribbons hung from the big tree, swaying with the leaves in the breeze.
Shen Yi moved forward, detecting the unique scent of incense within the temple. He looked around but saw no one.
Not until he reached the main hall did Shen Yi see a Buddha statue enshrined within. However, not being a Buddhist, he didn't recognize which Buddha it was.
And before the Buddha, a monk was facing the statue, chanting scriptures.
Watching everything in the hall and the monk's back, Shen Yi had no idea why he had come to a place like this, nor did he know what he was supposed to do here.
