Ye Wanwan accepted the video call and, seeing Shen Yi on her phone screen, couldn't help but recall the events of the previous night; her cheeks reddened involuntarily, and she felt somewhat unnatural even looking at him directly.
"You're up," she said casually upon noticing that Shen Yi was wiping his face with a towel.
"Mhm," Shen Yi responded while he continued his morning routine, then asked Ye Wanwan, "Haven't had breakfast yet?"
Ye Wanwan turned the camera to show him the lunch prepared by her housemaid. "About to eat now."
"That's good, I'm also getting ready to go to the office," Shen Yi said.
Ye Wanwan was surprised. "Isn't it just past six there? You're heading to the office this early?"
"Yeah, I've been away for a while, and some of the work details aren't very clear to me. I'll head over early to get a look before the meetings later so things aren't chaotic," Shen Yi explained, now finished with his ablutions and shaking his phone as he left the bathroom.
