Chapter 203 - Chapter 210: Don't let her get caught up in those dangers and struggles

"One dollar per round, how about it?" Gu Xiaoer's big eyes sparkled as she blinked at the two men.

Han Luoli shrugged indifferently, showing no objection. How could he not know her little scheme? After all, his money was hers too; keeping her happy was all that mattered.

Wei Feng looked pleadingly at his own boss. He didn't want to gamble. With the president on one side and the president's wife on the other, should he lose or should he win?

Han Luoli turned away mercilessly, ignoring him.

A game of Fight the Landlord, with each harboring their own thoughts, began.

After several rounds with high returns, Gu Xiaoer's excited face flushed with a faint red, tirelessly squeezing the two men—one who couldn't play, and the other who dared not play.

Wei Feng felt incredibly frustrated. Boss was obviously letting her win! Although he had mastered the rules of the game, he was still pretending to be confused and discarding cards at random. What was even more infuriating was that the big boss kept casting cold glances at him, unintentionally, forcing him to hold back his good cards and watch his money being won away, leaving him on the verge of tears...

Does he not know in any battlefield, all bets are off, and in card games, there are no superiors!

After playing for most of the afternoon and seeing that it was getting late, Gu Xiaoer finally stopped with a hefty profit of ten dollars and eighty cents, her heart brimming with joy.

"Boss, I lost seven dollars and thirty cents!" Wei Feng communicated silently with Han Luoli with his eyes.

Han Luoli narrowed his eyes, his gaze conveying silent sparks: "It's just seven dollars and thirty cents, go expense it at finance!"

"Sure thing!"

Seeing Gu Xiaoer's mind was on the money she had won, Han Luoli stood up and went to Shen Minghan's office, with Wei Feng following close behind.

"Quite the triumphant mood, aren't you?" Shen Minghan said, half-smiling, as he glanced at Han Luoli's faintly smiling face, then continued working at his desk.

Wei Feng clenched his right fist into his left palm, his voice full of sorrow: "Mr. Shen, you're absolutely right. My boss has finally found his long-lost fiancée!"

"What?" Shen Minghan swiveled his office chair around, setting down his pen and looking back at the two men. Han Luoli found his fiancée? What about Xiao Er?

The man elegantly nodded his noble and aloof head and consciously sat on the couch, crossing his legs. With his long fingers, he lit a cigarette and lazily blew out rings of smoke.

Unable to contain his excitement, Wei Feng stood to one side and explained to Shen Minghan: "Mr. Shen, my boss and his fiancée have a token, a Turquoise Earring. Unexpectedly, that earring turned out to be with Miss Gu. It turns out that the person we've been looking for was near yet far, right under our noses!"

"What! It's Xiao Er!" Shen Minghan exclaimed in astonishment.

Shen Minghan was silent for a few seconds, his expression suddenly turning serious when he spoke again: "Luoli, you haven't told her about your identity yet, have you?"

Han Luoli took a slow drag on his cigarette, his brows knitted in thought, and exhaled the swirling smoke quietly: "No."

"That's good, that's good," Shen Minghan said, sounding relieved. He continued earnestly, "Xiao Er and you are fated to be together; I'm genuinely happy for you, brother. But listen to me, before you sort out your own issues, don't get too close to Xiao Er. If you get too close, it could be dangerous. You remember what your fiancée is for, don't you? Honestly, I quite like that girl, Xiao Er. Don't let her fall into those dangers and struggles."

About half a minute passed, the man's breathing slightly heavy, a flash of chilliness passing through his deep-set eyes. Finally, he extinguished the cigarette and reverted to his indifferent demeanor: "I know my limits."
