Gu Xiaoer tilted her head in thought, and as the car took another turn, her little head bumped against the window, snapping her back to alertness.
Her tiny palm smeared across Han Luoli's face, "I told you, don't think about deceiving the customers. You, such a big man, should take on a proper job instead of doing this!"
He clearly had the capability and the looks, yet he wouldn't take the straight path.
Thinking this, Gu Xiaoer felt a bit dejected, angrily swatting away the wandering hand on her body.
She admitted that this man did possess a great charm that could make someone fall for him unintentionally. Just by listening to him speak and staring at his face, she felt like she was getting drunk.
Today, watching him protect her and reprimand Boss Li on her behalf, she had felt moved.
But, that feeling was bought with money. It wasn't truly hers; after the excitement and pleasure faded, they would each go their separate ways.
She was just a customer after all.
Quickly pulling herself together, Gu Xiaoer rummaged through her handbag and took out a small piece of paper, densely packed with writing.
"Look, our agreement here, it can end tonight. I won't have any dealings with them in the future, so there's no need to trouble you anymore. What do you think?"
Not understanding the fleeting emotion of the little woman, Han Luoli pinched the piece of paper, his eyes narrowing as if danger was about to spill out.
A trace of depth flitted through his sunken eyes, and Han Luoli put away the piece of paper, instead handing a stack of prepared documents to Gu Xiaoer.
"What is this?" Before even glancing at it, Gu Xiaoer's heart sank, why this ominous premonition?
Her fingers trembling as she opened the documents, and before even reading a few lines, Gu Xiaoer was ready to explode. Han Luoli didn't doubt that if it weren't for being in the car, she would have gone off.
A barely detectable smile vanished from his lips, Han Luoli lifted his long right leg, crossed it over his left, and spoke seriously, "In this business, we also have a fixed price. Take a look, I've rendered all the services listed! You don't owe me anything."
After finishing, he even gave Gu Xiaoer a friendly glance, his eyes clearly suggesting, "How about that, isn't it a good deal?"
The girl's face gradually shifted from furious rage to an ashen gray and finally turned into a pitiful sorrow.
How could it be so expensive?
Her small hand touching Han Luoli's arm, Gu Xiaoer coquettishly shook him, "Sir, isn't your fee a bit too expensive..."
Unmoved, Han Luoli gently pulled away Gu Xiaoer's hand, very clear-cut, "You get what you pay for. If you hired a third-rate rental boyfriend, could you have gotten the effect we had tonight? My appearance fee for a day is ten thousand, plus last night's five thousand, today's fee, bodyguard fee, and the car rental, it's already cheap at a total of one hundred thousand."
One hundred thousand.
As Han Luoli spoke those numbers, Gu Xiaoer's heart bled. To keep up appearances she had to shell out one hundred thousand; how many part-time jobs and tasks would she have to take on to make that back!
She was just a college student who hadn't even graduated; where would she get so much money?
The money for renting a boyfriend these past few days was hard-earned savings!
"Handsome Han, can't you make it a bit cheaper? I really don't have the money..." she persisted in her entreaty.
"That would disrupt the market order, sorry, can't do." The man feigned a frown, pretending to be serious.
