The portly middle-aged man was none other than Liu Qinchuan's father, Liu Taoguang, and the man standing tall with a proud demeanor was one of Liu Qinchuan's cousins, named Qin Shang, an officer from the Xichuan military region. Their status in Xichuan was such that they virtually held half the sky. A business tycoon and a military dignitary standing together made them virtually untouchable by the locals.
Liu Taoguang and Qin Shang entered the Mi Zhiyin pavilion, followed by Qin Shang's right-hand man, Xiong Peng, a name as domineering as the beasts it conjured, the bear and the roc. Xiong Peng led the way, escorting Liu Taoguang and Qin Shang to the floor where Liu Qinchuan was located.
