For some reason, just opening the front door, I felt an oppressive air hit me in the face. I swallowed hard, probably a human's innate premonition of danger, and I quietly stepped inside.
In the living room, Zheng Yufei sat on the sofa, and when she heard movement, she looked toward me with a gaze as cold as ice.
I thought it over and over, aside from not coming home yesterday and being a bit late today, I couldn't think of anything I did to upset Zheng Yufei.
So I told myself, can't see, can't see, can't see, hoping to head straight to my bedroom and avoid conflict.
"Stop right there." Just as I was about to enter the bedroom, Zheng Yufei's voice, cold enough to freeze into ice, came from behind me. I turned stiffly and looked toward her, "What's wrong?"
Zheng Yufei just stared straight at me, her gaze sizing me up, "Out with it, what have you been up to behind my back?"
