I was startled and instinctively grabbed the hand on my shoulder, turning around just in time to almost bump face-to-face with Chu Wenjie.
Seeing it was me, Chu Wenjie subconsciously let go of his hand, when suddenly there came a tsk-tsk-tsk sound from inside. We both looked at the source simultaneously, only to see Chen leaning on the bed, leisurely sizing us up with his gaze.
Perhaps because our movements just now were overly intimate, Chen's eyes were filled with a 'are you two hiding something?' look. I cleared my throat twice, trying to ease the awkwardness, "You're awake, how do you feel?"
Chen managed a pale smile: "Not too bad, thanks to Mr. Lin's concern. Don't worry, this injury isn't enough to kill me."
