I paused for a moment and then suddenly remembered my purpose, standing up out of the blue. Chen was startled by my abrupt action, "What's wrong with you? Playing dead or something?"
My eyes locked intently on Chen, making her feel so uneasy that she swallowed hard, her voice trembling, "If there's something you want to say, just say it. Don't stare at me like that, it's creepy."
I chuckled and walked up to Chen, trying to flash what I thought was a gentle smile, "So, tomorrow, after the parts are purchased and the technical department starts processing the orders, could I take a couple of days off?"
Seeing that all I wanted was some time off, Chen rolled her eyes so hard they might've reached heaven, "Big brother, you just want to take a break, right? Do you really need to give me that 'I'm-going-to-eat-you' look?"
I feigned distress, "I was just worried you wouldn't let me."
