Watching Secretary Chen as she prepared to leave the office, I took the initiative to call out to her, "Tomorrow, I need to convene a meeting of the senior leadership to revise and reform the factory's system."
Secretary Chen was utterly composed, as if she had an innate understanding of any decision I might make, "Okay, so have you already drafted them?"
I was taken aback and blurted out subconsciously, "Shouldn't those systems be discussed during the meeting to seek the opinions of the leadership? Do I need to draft them directly?"
A look of frustration crossed Secretary Chen's face, "What do you think? You're the factory director, and you've just taken the post. Besides Lin Xiaoyi, no one else is on your side, right? Do you think these old hands will easily give you their input? They will only amplify their interests. Frankly, the usefulness of directly holding a meeting is next to nil. They'll just give you vague responses."
