I stepped further away from Zhou Xiaoxiao, but she advanced towards me step by step. Only when she was a mere step away did she come to a halt.
I knew Zhou Xiaoxiao had something to say. Sure enough, she began, "Mr. Lin, or Lin Xingwen, may I address you as 'Wen'?"
I took a step back, "Miss Zhou, that's going a bit far, please continue to call me Mr. Lin."
Zhou Xiaoxiao didn't seem annoyed and maintained a breezy smile, "You don't need to be so wary of me, Mr. Lin. I just feel that we share a common plight and probably have more to talk about."
I didn't believe that Zhou Xiaoxiao was here just for a simple chat. After all, anyone who could stand out among a host of women wasn't likely to be a pushover.
I looked at Zhou Xiaoxiao, my expression revealing nothing, "Miss Zhou's words seem off—the situations we are in are not the same. Saying we share a common plight doesn't seem quite right."
