The 300 million yuan investment didn't net the Lin Family Village residents any money, they only said it would spur their employment and beautify and revitalize the countryside.
At the same time, it provided the village with fully paved cement roads and installed solar streetlights, letting them feel the benefits of this investment.
"Today, we've gathered everyone here for a meeting, and I'm sure you all know why," said the village chief, Lin Wan'er's father, as he convened the villager's assembly.
"Old Lin, just tell us, and we'll follow along. After all, that farmland has been lying fallow for many years, with nobody farming it. If we contract it out, every household in our village can still get a bit of money every year," one of the elder villagers said.
The elder villagers didn't have much to say against it; they felt that this time, they were fortunate, having taken advantage of Lin Zhenghui.
