Gu Tingshen and I paused in our tracks when we heard the voice continue from the other end of the phone.
"Jiang Wei has a son and wife who just got their green card overseas a couple of days ago, and it was a Shen Family Member who helped with the paperwork."
Deputy Director Sun's eyes twitched, his voice dripping with impatience, "This trivial matter doesn't need reporting."
After that, he hung up the phone.
I glanced sideways at Gu Tingshen. Without needing to say much, he directly asked, "Deputy Director Sun, shouldn't we summon the Shen Family Member for questioning?"
No sooner had Gu Tingshen finished speaking than I saw a flicker of surprise pass through Deputy Director Sun's eyes, "Director Gu, that's too polite of you. The Shen Family is on good terms with you; they shouldn't be capable of such a thing."
While saying this, he prepared to send us on our way with a chuckle.
