"Hide, quick!" I grabbed Hu Tao's hand and darted to the right, where a row of empty crates stood conveniently. The crates were wooden and hollow, each topped with a cover, just spacious enough for two. I let Hu Tao climb inside first, and as I was about to follow, clang, the door burst open.
My limbs, still not fully nimble, would have certainly given me away had I tried to scramble further inside. Realizing I couldn't hide anymore, I brashly slid the cover shut over us.
