Chapter 48 - Demons

Back in Mirayuki's room, the tension lingers, heavy and palpable. The memory of that harrowing encounter with the archdemon still clings to me, a weight pressing against my chest. Even weakened and restrained, its mere aura had been enough to paralyze us with fear—a suffocating, choking presence that lingered long after we had left Serpentara.

Mirayuki, commanding her homunculi maids with practiced ease, brings us steaming cups of special herbal tea. The earthy scent fills the room, a calming balm against frayed nerves.

"I can't believe it…" Sophia murmurs, her voice shaky. "There was an actual archdemon."

"Yeah," Mirayuki says grimly, leaning back against her chair. "And just that one bastard alone could delete Valeria in a single day."
