The Dimensional Gates are located in separate, heavily guarded rooms. There are two gates: one for Departures and one for Arrivals. The setup feels strikingly similar to an airport on Earth, and the process works in much the same way.
First, you purchase a ticket at the counter.
"Mister Edward, here is your ticket and your Identification Card," the staff member says with a polite smile, handing me the ticket. It's a simple piece of paper, stamped with the Mage Guild's official seal, authorizing travel. To purchase it, I had to present my identification card.
Since I hold a Crimson Rank ID, I received a 20% discount on the ticket. Even with the discount, though, the price remains outrageous—40,000 crowns for a one-way trip. That's an entire year's salary for the average person!
