Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Feast

"Why is my head acting up? I feel like I have a headache," Michael said to himself as the frequent blue panel appeared again. With his hand on his head, he turned to the blonde girl. Oddly enough, she used his name, which confused him along with the panel that seemed to pop up when she started talking to him. She conversed with him as if they were already close.

"How do you know my name? I never said my name," he asked her, the now constant blue panel popping up in his face. Calmly, she responded, "It's my skill. It allows me to see your information," her arms now crossed, looking at him with sweet eyes.

Michael looked at her, puzzled, and asked, "How is that possible, and what do you mean by my information?" She gave him a brief annoyed look, but it softened as she answered him with a warm voice and gentle demeanor.

"Have you played video games before?" she asked.

"Yeah, of course. Who hasn't? I just bought Super Mario last week."

The corner of her lips twitched for a second before she continued.

"Well, right now, we're kind of playing a game. These blue panels are part of that, and skills are like special abilities. Got it?" she said, playing with her hair.

"Yeah, I think so."

"I never really noticed, but she's really beautiful. I feel the same way I did when I was on my first date with Kali. I really think she's my type. Ah, maybe I should trust her. She was right about that guy, wasn't she?" Michael thought to himself as the girl smiled and intimately stared at him.

"Wait, where is that man?" Michael urgently said as he looked around and spotted the man who had previously approached him. The man was only a little away from the wolves who started to circle him.

Michael started to pace towards the man. He felt that he wouldn't be able to forgive himself after letting a man walk to his death. As he called out "Sir" in hopes of grabbing the attention of the man, he was stopped. The blonde girl held his left hand.

"Please don't go. Didn't you say you would protect me?" She looked at him with eyes that deeply conveyed feelings of obligation. Obligations to protect the lady with all his soul. Her blue eyes shone like gems, and she started to look like an angel, at least in his eyes.

"I will—" Before he could continue, the howls of the wolves could be heard. The soulless-looking man was now surrounded. He stood there as one wolf with a scar on its right eye went for the man's left leg. He didn't scream out in agony; instead, his eyes leaked tears as he fell to the ground.

A few of the wolves fought with the wolf who took his leg. As some of the wolves were fighting over the leg, another wolf jumped onto the chest of the man who now lay on the ground. The wolf sank its claws into the man's chest and threw its mouth onto his right shoulder. The man only stretched his mouth in pain, empty of screams. His fingers and toes crinkled in pain; his tears soaked his shirt along with blood.

"YOUNG MAN!" the man screamed out.

Michael rushed forward, completely ignoring the girl holding his hand back.

"I'm always going to say yes," Michael said confidently with a forced smile as he rushed into the wolves feasting on the man's body.

[...Perfect]

A light red began to emit from his hands as he grabbed the wolf with the scar on its eye. He grabbed it by its neck as the arm it had in its mouth dropped to the ground.

Michael threw the wolf at the wolves on the man. While it had not killed any of the wolves, it made them back off, leaving the mauled man alone.

The desolate area was divided into two sides because of his previous action. On one side were the remaining wolves, and on the other were the 100 people, including Michael.

Everyone had their eyes glued to him. He looked like what he was doing was natural. To Michael, his instincts were telling him this would be easy, while in his mind, it was impossible.
