Seraphina led the way through the narrow, damp tunnel, her torch casting flickering shadows on the walls. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, the adrenaline from our narrow escape still coursing through my veins. The sound of soldiers tearing through the cabin above made me shiver, but I kept my focus on Seraphina's steady form ahead of me.
"How much farther?" I whispered, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Not much," she replied over her shoulder, her voice calm and reassuring. "We need to get to the old forest. There's a hidden passage there that will take us back to the castle."
I nodded, trusting her completely. The tunnel seemed to stretch on forever, the darkness closing in around us. Each step felt like an eternity, but finally, we emerged into the cool night air of the forest. The canopy above was dense, blocking out most of the moonlight, but it felt like a haven compared to the claustrophobic tunnel.
