"WHERE IS THIS PLACE!?!?!" I exclaimed loudly as I frantically looked around everywhere, greatly confused of the place that I was in.
There, my two feet stood on the flat plains of greeny grasses, along with the baby blue skies that looked heavenly. On my front view, a small town could be slightly seen, the view of bustling streets and joyful laughs of the young children lightening up the townspeople's spirits.
There was a small detail that Ein noticed, the town looked a bit different from the modern-styled houses that he would usually see on his way home from work, since its architecture looked like of those old houses that were structured a long time ago.
In other terms, it looked too ancient to be built in the modern world.
Ein wondered and thought to himself, was he perhaps transported into another universe with a different timeline? Pssh, impossible, It only exists in fantasy novels after all.
After being lost in thought for quite some time, he walked towards the nearby river to wash his face up. Upon seeing the clear reflection of himself, he was utterly shocked.
The face that he could view on the flowing river's reflection was most certainly not his face at all. It was a whole other person!
"This.. is me?" Ein continued to stare at his reflection, touching his face to confirm the truth.
"Why..... am I so handsome and pretty all at once!?!?!? Since it's confirmed that I have transmigrated somewhere and to someone thanks to this pretty boy face, who knew that I would also obtain such a majestic look!?!? Imagine if this guy was a royal prince or something.. what a bonus!!" Ein felt truly elated to be given the opportunity to possess a body with glorifying facial features!
As Ein continued to enamore his own looks, a rustling sound can be heard from the bushes behind him. Ein noticed the suspicious sound, and decided to walk slowly towards the source of the noise. After being only a few feet away from the bush, he immediately unveiled it, only to find a teen boy around the same age as him and the guy he was possessing.
The young boy had crimson hair, with green eyes that matched the color of the grasses that he sat on. The outfit he wore looked terribly worn out, including his whole physical condition. From head to toe, black and blue bruises occupied his entire body.
Ein was startled to see a teenage boy all covered in wounds, but before he could attempt to talk to the young guy, the battered boy suddenly backed away and grabbed the rock that was beside him. His eyes were filled with vigilance, looking me up and down.
"Hey there fella.. no need to be cautious, i'm just here for fresh air. I see that you're badly injured, would you mind if I tend those wounds for you? No payment of course." Ein gently suggested, attempting to lower the other party's guard so that he could slowly warm up to him.
The young boy's eyes began to narrow by the second, still remaining watchful of Ein's actions. After some careful consideration, he then slowly asked "Who are you?"
"My name is Ein, just a mere youthful lad enjoying the flowy winds here in the plains. How about you?" Ein smiled as he kindly questioned the other.
"My name is Luis, Luis Meinhardt." Luis replied.
Hearing the teenager's name, it felt like Ein was struck by a bolting lightning. Luis? Luis Meinhardt? The character from the novel that he recently read? That Luis Meinhardt?
Ein couldn't believe what he just heard, he asked the boy once more just to make sure.
"Come again? Luis.. Meinhardt?"
"Yes" the young man replied, nodding his head.
Once again, Ein felt like he got electrecuted by loud thunder. Did he perhaps transmigrate into the novel? If so, then maybe he could avoid the mc from going astray into the path that he chose during the later chapters of the novel.
After planning out his goal, Ein's eyes fired up with determination, ready to lead the mc into the right direction by being his guiding light.
"Such a nice name you have! Well let me introduce myself once more, my name is-"
"Ein." Luis interrupted
"Ah? Yes?"
"Are you.. a kind person?" Luis asked, a hint of curiosity showing on his face.
"Well, that depends on how others percieve me. They say i'm generous, while others disagree. " Ein answered truthfully.
"They say that you're unkind?" Luis's eyes slightly widened upon listening to Ein's response.
"Ahaha.. yea.. but that's also true anywa-"
Before Ein could finish his sentence, Luis instantly grabbed Ein's hands and held them.
"That's not true! Ein is very kind and sweet, you are not rude to me, and you look gentle! Don't listen to them, they are blind." Luis then slowly became angry after knowing that people think of Ein as a rude person.
After hearing out Luis's sincere explanation, Ein couldn't help but feel overjoyed. The mc complimenting him? That's something only crazy people would believe!
Ein's mouth curved into a bright and happy smile "Thank you, Luis!" Ein thanked Luis with utmost happiness.
Luis suddenly turned his head to the opposite side of where Ein could be seen, trying his best to cover up the flushed shade of pink covering his entire face.
Ein was slightly confused at Luis's actions, but shrugged it off right after. A sudden thought clicked in his mind, and instantly called out to Luis.
"Luis, you still have wounds all over your body, let me tend to them for you. It might cause slight pain, but bear with it alright?"
"Okay.." Luis was reluctant at first, but then began to give in.
The next 20 minutes was filled with defeaning silence, sounds of birds tweeting could be heard from the trees.
After several minutes of treating the other party's wounds, Ein wiped the bead of sweat off his temples and sighed in relief.
"Whew.. there, all tended with care. Does it still hurt?" Ein questioned with slight concern.
"No, i'm all healed! You are very good with treating wounds Ein" Luis complimented, sparkles glimmering in his eyes.
Upon hearing this comment, Ein felt embarrassed and decided to dust it off with a nervous laugh, "Ahaha.. it's no big deal, minor injuries are no difficult thing to treat. Now then, i'll be venturing into the forests for a while, so you should stay here since your cuts and bruises are still fresh."
"But what if there are monsters there?" Luis argued.
Ein completely forgot about that. In the novel "Beyond rescuing", it also contains tales of monsters lurking around the deep woods. But even so, Ein still needed to look further into the forest, since he remembered something important regarding about the flow of the plot.
During the time when Luis was gradually going astray due to his so called 'path', he discovered a 2 story abandoned house inside the green forest that Ein was planning to go to. The house itself isn't all to dangerous because according to the novel, the house was protected with some sort of magic. But it was not any natural magic, it was one of the highest ranking magic cast upon that very house.
Apparently, a wizard used to lodge in the exact house, but then sadly abandoned it because he decided to let others in need stay in his home.
"Are you sure about this? What if you get hurt?" Luis continued to pester Ein with numerous questions.
Ein sighed then responded, "If you're this overly worried, then I guess you'll just have to come with me then.."
"Really??" Luis asked, excitement filling up his eyes.
"Yes, yes. Now let's move along now before the sky turns dark. We've been out here for quite a long time." Ein suggested.
"Okay" Luis Replied.
The two then slowly ventured into the forest full of mysteries, remaining vigilant and observant towards their surroundings and continuously moved forward.
An hour later, the duo fortunately arrived safely to their destination and made it right before nightfall.
