Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Weird

After school, Charmel and her friends walked together to the school entrance.

"That was a long day," Charmel said, stretching her arms.

"Tell me about it," Leo said, yawning.

Chika nodded in agreement "I'm so tired," she said, sighing.

Kai looked at them, skeptical "You guys act like taking classes is the hardest thing in the world," he said, rolling his eyes.

Chika chuckled "Oh, come on Kai," she said. "You know classes can be tiring sometimes."

Charmel excited to go to her home "I'm going home♪~(´ε` ), home (^3^)~♪, home ♪~(´ε` )" Charmel's friends looked at her oddly as she hummed a cheerful tune

"What's got you in such a good mood?" Leo asked, looking amused.

Chika smiled"I think she's just happy to be done with school," Chika said.

Kai rolled his eyes "Or maybe she's just a weirdo," he said, grinning.

Charmel smirked, taking it as a compliment "A weirdo who knows how to have fun," she said, sticking her tongue out at Kai.

"unlike the idiot out there"

Kai glared at her "I'm not an idiot!" he said, sounding annoyed. "And you're not exactly a genius, so don't act like you are."

Chika and Leo looked at each other, trying not to laugh at their banter "Okay, calm down," Chika said, trying to diffuse the situation. "Let's just get home, okay?"

Charmel stuck out her tongue at Kai but nodded "Yeah, let's go," she said, still feeling happy.

Kai and Chika said their goodbyes and headed in opposite directions.

Charmel and Leo walked together, chatting and laughing "So, what are you up to tonight?" Charmel asked, looking at Leo.

Leo shrugged "Not much planned," he said. "Just gonna hang out at home, I guess. What about you?"

Charmel smiled mischievously "I've got a secret mission to complete," she said, sounding cryptic.

Leo looked at her, intrigued "A secret mission?" he asked, curious.

"Game in my Mobile phone, it's really hard to complete that mission"

Leo chuckled "A game, huh?" he said. "I know how addictive those can be. What game is it?"

Charmel grinned "It's called 'Battle of the Kingdoms'," she said, excitedly. "I've been playing it for weeks now, and I can't seem to beat the final mission. It's driving me crazy."

Leo smiled "Oh, I've heard of that one," he said. "It's pretty popular. Do you want some help?" he offered.

"No Thank you, I have to complete that mission in my own strength and intellectual"

Leo nodded, understanding her determination.

"Okay, I get it," he said. "I respect that. But if you ever need help or just want to talk about the game, I'm here, okay?"

Charmel smiled at him, grateful for his offer.

"Thanks, Leo," she said. "I appreciate it."

As they continued walking, Charmel's thoughts drifted back to the game. She couldn't wait to get home and finally beat that last mission.

"can I ask you Leo?"

Leo looked at Charmel, curious "Sure, what is it?" he asked.

Charmel look at Leo eyes with blank eyes and cold expression suddenly the atmosphere become strange

"When Kai said in school are you really not trying to take advantage of me?"

Leo looked at Charmel, a little taken aback by her sudden change in demeanor.

"What do you mean?" he asked, sounding confused. "Charmel, I would never try to take advantage of you. I value our friendship."

Charmel continued to stare at him, her expression unreadable.

"How can I be sure of that?" she asked, her voice low and serious. "How do I know you're not just using me for your own gain?"

Leo felt a pang of hurt at her words.

"ok HAHAHA" She's back to normal they finally reach there home "well I'm better going inside now"

Leo felt relieved to see Charmel's demeanor return to normal, but he was still a bit confused by her sudden change earlier.

"Uh, okay," he said, recovering his composure. "I guess I'll see you later then?"

Charmel smiled at him, as if nothing had happened.

"Sure, see you!" she said, waving before heading inside.

Leo watched her go, feeling a mix of relief and confusion. What was that all about? He shook his head, pushing the thoughts aside, and started heading home himself, still trying to make sense of that strange moment.
