Chapter 450 - Chapter 451: Joining the Funeral in Tears

Klein raised an eyebrow. Although a bit confused, he still approached Lynn, who was setting up a ritual magic that Klein didn't recognize.

"This is a skill I learned from Bethel. I've made some adjustments based on my own circumstances. It might not be as effective for locating an angel, but it works pretty well for entities below that level. You can give it a try, though I doubt you'd normally be able to use it. But since you have the power of Sefirah Castle, who knows, it might work for you…"

As Lynn deftly arranged the ritual magic, he patiently explained it to Klein, who was standing nearby. "The principle is somewhat similar to prayer or sacrifice rituals, but it's a forced reverse-locating technique. With this ritual, as long as you possess an item belonging to the target and know their true name, combined with the power of Sefirah Castle, you can forcefully pinpoint their location, regardless of whether they choose to respond."

"But…" Lynn paused, adding a warning, "I wouldn't recommend trying this with a high-level Beyonder, as it could result in them reverse-locating you instead."

"Who would be bored enough to try tracking down a powerful Beyonder?" Klein muttered. He wasn't that idle and had no intention of randomly tracking high-sequence Beyonders.

"You never know, what if you get a sudden impulse?" Lynn teased. Before Klein could retort in frustration, Lynn continued explaining the various key points and precautions of the ritual.

By the time he finished, the ritual magic was nearing completion. Lynn took a step back and softly recited the name of Kalvetua. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind swept through the courtyard.

The wind came and went abruptly. As it died down, Lynn stretched out his hand, and a small, crystal-clear bubble appeared in his palm.

"Alright, we've got the coordinates. Let's go find him!" Lynn said, holding the bubble and smiling at Klein.

Later that afternoon, a group of unexpected visitors arrived at the ancient ruins where Kalvetua, the Sea Serpent, had been hiding for years.

"Not good, it's the Storm Church's Adjudicator!"

"It's the Archbishop Jahn Kottman!"

"Lord, save me!"

Unlike the original scene where Klein arrived at the ruins to find the high-ranking members of the Sea God's Cult either dead or mutated beyond recognition, this time, since they arrived two months earlier, the ruins were still occupied by many high-ranking members of the cult, along with the Sea God's corrupted guards.

"Gehrman, go take them out. Don't worry about harming innocents. Every Sea God cultist here is the type who'd deserve a ten-minute execution—take them all out. It'll make reforming the cult easier later," Lynn urged from behind Klein.

"And what about you?" Klein glanced at the Sea God's high-ranking members and guards fighting the Adjudicators, then turned to Lynn, who was hiding behind him.

"I'll stay back and buff you," Lynn said, unapologetic. "I don't fight."

"You're a Sequence 5, though," Klein quipped.

"So what? I may be Sequence 5, but I don't fight," Lynn replied, shrugging with perfect composure.

Absolutely unbelievable!

Klein shook his head, unable to hold back a chuckle. He glanced over at Jahn, who was already overwhelming Kalvetua, sparks and lightning flashing all around them. With a snap of his fingers, Klein vanished and reappeared behind the Sea God Cult's high priest, raising his Devil Revolver and aiming at the back of the priest's head.

While talking to Lynn earlier, Klein had discreetly tossed a matchstick in that direction, now utilizing his Flame Jump ability.

"Bang—"

The battle ended quickly. After all, both the Storm Church and Lynn's side vastly overpowered the Sea God Cult.

In just a matter of minutes, Kalvetua and his most fervent and devout followers were defeated, leaving behind only corpses and Characteristics.

The most eye-catching of all was the sea-blue Characteristic at the center of the ruins, which had emerged from Kalvetua's massive body, glowing with a mysterious aura.

Unlike in the original story where Kalvetua's Characteristic immediately became a Sealed Artifact upon hitting the ground, this time, since Jahn had been the one to finish off Kalvetua, the Characteristic merely materialized normally.

Even so, the Characteristic radiated an overwhelming danger to ordinary Beyonders, making them instinctively hesitate, while also drawing the Adjudicators toward it with a deep, primal desire.

"So beautiful!" Lynn admired the Sea King's Characteristic, sincerely impressed. Though he had seen many Characteristics, including those from higher sequences, none matched this one in sheer beauty.

"Take it away!" Jahn ordered coldly without even glancing at the Characteristic.

He didn't want to see something that should have belonged to the Storm Church any longer.

Lynn wasn't bothered by Jahn's attitude. He exchanged a glance with Klein and gave him a subtle signal before turning to the Sea King. "Archbishop Kottman, we'll need to perform a sacrifice ritual here. Would you and your team mind stepping away for a bit?"

Even though it hadn't become a Sealed Artifact, a Sequence 3 Characteristic was still far too dangerous to carry around, so Klein planned to sacrifice it to Sefirah Castle.

Jahn's expression became even more stony, but he didn't object. With a grunt, he signaled for the Adjudicators to withdraw from the Sea God's ancient ruins.

Normally, after defeating Kalvetua and his minions, they would have thoroughly searched the ruins, which were obviously quite old. However, Jahn had no interest in that now—searching was pointless when the spoils belonged to someone else.

"The Angel of Secrets is ready. You'll send the Sea King's Characteristic over, and He'll forge it into the most suitable artifact for you," Lynn said to Klein after the Sea King and his men left.

Klein's expression became a bit strange as he considered something. "So the one who crafted our artifacts before… was Him?"

"Yes, it was Him," Lynn replied, not hiding anything. Then, in a slightly annoyed tone, he added, "I only found out after integrating my memories. That guy… Who knows how many disguises he's wearing. Now I'm starting to suspect that half the people I know might be him in disguise."
