Klein wasn't surprised at Benson and Melissa's choices, and he was genuinely relieved.
From what he understood, neither of their paths had any major pitfalls. Klein had all the potion formulas for the Lawyer pathway, and while he didn't have many for the Savant pathway, having the Angel of Secrets on his side made obtaining them relatively easy.
Their advancements went smoothly, without any notable issues. After teaching them the basics of Beyonder knowledge, he left some corresponding mysticism books for them and introduced them to the Evernight Church, making both Benson and Melissa informants.
Additionally, Klein asked Captain Dunn and the others to keep an eye on Benson and Melissa. He also commissioned weapons suitable for them from a friend of Lynn's, made enough charms for their protection, and bought a batch of scrolls from Lynn for them to use in self-defense. Klein even secretly hinted at the honorable name of The Fool to both Benson and Melissa.
Of course, Klein didn't reveal his identity as The Fool to his siblings, only subtly suggesting that they could seek help from this deity if they ever encountered difficulties.
In summary, Mr. Fool was extremely meticulous when it came to his family's safety, and the results were immediate. Benson and Melissa were now well-armed. Even if they faced a Sequence 7 Beyonder, they were confident they could escape unharmed.
In Tingen, that was more than enough. The arrival of the offspring of the True Creator was a rare event. As a small city, most of the Beyonder incidents Tingen encountered didn't involve high-level entities.
As for bringing his siblings to Backlund, Klein had considered it but wasn't in a rush.
After all, the information provided by the Angel of Secrets indicated that a significant event might occur in Backlund soon. Although Klein trusted that the Angel of Secrets is always well-prepared and he would likely thwart any schemes, Klein still wanted to wait until everything was settled before moving his siblings.
However, such thorough preparations had drained Mr. Fool's wallet. Although he would still receive bounties from Miss Justice for capturing Vice Admiral Hurricane over the next few months, Klein's spending habits made it clear that he was on the verge of bankruptcy.
Thus, Mr. Fool was in dire need of money and was almost on the brink of financial collapse.
Especially considering that he still needed to help Benson and Melissa with future potion ingredients for their advancement—despite their claims that they could manage on their own, Klein couldn't just ignore them. He also needed to find the Bizarro Sorcerer potion formula and the necessary materials. Klein desperately needed to hunt some Lucky Pirates to fill the financial gap.
Cattleya had no idea just how broke the young man in front of her was. She merely coughed lightly and said, "Frank, these gentlemen are Mr. Gabriel, Mr. Gehrman, and Danitz. They seem to have some matters to entrust you with."
"What is it?" Frank greeted the three in the room before finding a spot by the window and curiously looking at Lynn and Klein.
Lynn nudged Mr. Fool's shoulder and whispered, "Time for your performance. Go on, Gehrman!" His tone was like he was releasing a mischievous spirit.
Klein glanced at him, smiled helplessly, and then turned to Frank Lee, saying seriously, "Mr. Frank, I've heard you possess extraordinary talents in the field of life, especially with soil, crops, and hybridization. I would like to commission you to cultivate some special crops."
Frank's eyes lit up immediately, clearly flattered. "You're indeed an exceptional adventurer! Brilliant! This world needs more people like you!" He muttered a few more words and then glanced at Lynn. "Well, you do seem like people with genius ideas."
The "genius ideas" Frank referred to were naturally the ones Lynn had previously mentioned—like making plants produce sunlight or creating explosive fruits.
"I'm no genius. These ideas came from Gehrman." Lynn passed the glory to Klein without a trace of guilt. After all, he believed his own thought process couldn't match up to such genius ideas. It was better to let Mr. Fool, who had a good rapport with Frank in the original timeline, take the lead.
Most importantly, Lynn was somewhat worried about the potential consequences of this "World of Mushroom" idea. So, he decided to let Mr. Fool take the blame. That way, even if the world was overtaken by mushrooms, it wouldn't be his fault.
Klein, vaguely sensing what Lynn was thinking, thought, 'Seriously?!'
Frank's eyes shone even brighter as he looked at Klein, clearly thrilled.
Had it not been for his Clown abilities, Klein's expression might have already cracked.
Mr. Fool struggled to maintain his composure, smiling as he nodded and said, "I do occasionally have some peculiar ideas, like making sunflowers or mushrooms produce sunlight, or cultivating mushrooms that can spray mucus to stop enemies…"
Klein recalled various bizarre plants from video games, describing some of the less outrageous ones. He then added, "Or perhaps wheat that grows bread directly or flowers with sentient qualities that can sing to soothe people. However, I don't have any talents in this field, so they remain just ideas."
"Brilliant! These ideas are brilliant!" Frank was so excited that his face turned red.
As a mad scientist whose thoughts were ahead of his time, Frank, despite his own outlandish ideas, had never experienced the kind of creative influx Klein had from the information age. To him, Klein's ideas were simply revolutionary, opening the door to a whole new world and inspiring him endlessly.
"Yes, this is definitely a direction worth pursuing. I have some ideas now…" Frank mumbled to himself, his pupils losing focus as his mind raced with all sorts of strange and fascinating ideas.
The others in the room exchanged glances, seeing the same hint of panic in each other's eyes.
'I should have stopped Gehrman from speaking,' Cattleya thought to herself. Just the idea of future scenes aboard the Future, with mushrooms running amok, made her scalp tingle. She could almost see the world succumbing to an apocalyptic mushroom infestation.
