Chapter 378 - Chapter 379: Fifth epoch Amon Finally Meets Lynn

Faced with such a strange and sarcastic tone, even Amon's smile stiffened for a moment. However, he quickly resumed his smile and said, "You all really haven't changed a bit from what I remember."

Amon then glanced at Medici, the War Angel who had yet to fully recover and was currently only at Sequence 2 in strength. This was good news for Amon.

He smiled and said, "It's been a long time, Medici. Although there were some rather unpleasant incidents between us, I'm still glad to see you again."

"Pfft!" Upon hearing this, Medici burst out laughing. His blood-red eyes met Amon's as he chuckled, "I'm also glad to see you again, Amon! I wonder if your feathers are still as fire-resistant as they were a thousand years ago."

"Don't be so angry. There's no real grudge between us. I admit that I once played a part in your downfall, but that's all in the past. We can totally set aside our old grievances..." Amon's tone was calm and unhurried as he continued, "And reestablish cooperation."

Before Medici could respond, Lynn's expression became peculiar. He stroked his chin and asked seriously, "By reestablishing cooperation, do you mean tricking Medici into hunting the Primordial Demoness and then selling him out again?"

This wasn't an accusation against Amon; it was a fact that he had done just that in the original history.

Upon hearing Lynn's words, Amon, who had been trying to manipulate Medici, suddenly twitched his eyelid, while Medici narrowed his eyes.

"Selling him out was just in the fourth epoch. I might have done so because, at that time, Medici, you didn't have enough value for me to fully assist you." Although Amon was startled for half a second, he quickly regained his composure and, with a smile, continued, "But things are different now. It wouldn't benefit me to betray you."

Lynn raised an eyebrow at this, acknowledging that Amon was telling the truth. In this time, which Lynn had interfered with, Amon might indeed not betray Medici again, as it would be too costly.

As for why Amon was trying so hard to deceive Medici, Lynn had figured it out. This era's Amon clearly hadn't given up on the strategy of making peace with him. However, unlike the Amon of the Fourth Epoch, this one had chosen to address the problem at its root: if the conflict between Lynn and him originated with Medici, then by resolving his differences with Medici and successfully cooperating again, the conflict with Lynn would also be resolved.

It must be said that this logic wasn't flawed. Without Klein's existence, if Amon managed to reconcile with Medici, Lynn might indeed be less inclined to target Amon, out of respect for Medici.

Unfortunately, there were no "ifs."

However, Lynn had no intention of reminding Amon of this. He merely looked at Medici with interest, curious if he would agree to cooperate with Amon.

"For now, there's no need for me to cooperate with you." Under Lynn's gaze, Medici suddenly revealed a mocking smile and looked at Amon, saying, "Why would I cooperate with a loser destined to fail?"

Medici was never one to hold back. In the original history, he chose to cooperate with Amon out of necessity. In that history, Medici didn't have an unscrupulous elder brother like Lynn by his side. With the True Creator sealed in the Forsaken Land of the Gods and Ouroboros being unreliable, Medici had no choice but to fend for himself.

"That's truly unfortunate." Seeing his attempt at manipulation fail, Amon showed a regretful expression, though there was little disappointment in his eyes, as if he had anticipated this outcome.

As for Medici's mention of a "loser," Amon knew exactly what he was referring to—Adam had informed him that in the future, and he was subtly hinted at by Lynn, Amon was not the one who would ultimately become the Lord of Mysteries.

Though Amon found this unbelievable and utterly ridiculous—he had no idea who could defeat him and take that position within the next ten or so years—he accepted it as fact.

In fact, after realizing that he was being targeted by someone as overpowered as Lynn, who also had close ties with Bethel and that stupid wolf Antigonus, Amon had mentally prepared himself for this possibility.

He had no idea that Bethel was in no condition to become the Lord of Mysteries, nor that he had already been corrupted by the Mother Goddess of Depravity. So, from Amon's perspective, even without the original history, given that Lynn had entered the picture, it was unlikely that he would become the Lord of Mysteries.

Because Lynn would never stand idly by and let him ascend to that level.

However, Amon was not about to give up on the competition for the Lord of Mysteries. The more Lynn targeted him, the more determined Amon became to claim that title. Amon believed that even Lynn was unlikely to be a match for the Lord of Mysteries.

While Lynn was unpredictable and mysterious, his strength might not be as formidable.

But this didn't stop Amon from making multiple preparations. Trying to deceive Medici into reconciling was one preparation; the existence of Tiny Amon was another.

So Amon smiled and revealed the cage in his hand, saying, "I can guess why you're here. But before that, why not accept my gift?"

"Oh, how thoughtful." Lynn looked at the cage in Amon's hand, already guessing what it contained.

Sure enough, in the next moment, Amon lifted the black cloth covering the cage, revealing a miniaturized version of Tiny Amon.

"Help, Lynn! The original is insane; he's torturing his avatars. Please save me!" Tiny Amon lay weakly in the cage, looking as though he was on the verge of death.

This wasn't an act; just moments ago, while waiting for Lynn, Amon's original body had nearly killed Tiny Amon, calling it a "strategy of self-harm."

Tiny Amon thought, 'To hell with that!'

"Uh..." Lynn looked at the clearly weakened Tiny Amon, unsure of what to say. Finally, he looked at Amon seriously and said, "Try to be human."

"Heh!" Amon chuckled, suddenly tossing the cage containing Tiny Amon towards Lynn. As Lynn caught the cage, golden flames erupted where Amon had been standing, instantly incinerating him to ashes.

"Just a clone," Medici remarked, unsurprised.

"Figured as much, though his original body is probably nearby..." Lynn was equally unsurprised. He weighed the cage in his hand and looked at the wilting Tiny Amon inside. After a moment's thought, he glanced at Ouroboros.

Although slightly stunned, Ouroboros quickly caught on and used a restart on Tiny Amon, restoring him to perfect condition.

"Thank you..."

Tiny Amon's voice echoed as he finally stood up, seemingly revitalized. Looking at the three, he asked, "Are you going to capture my original next?"

"No need to thank me..." Lynn smiled but shook his head. "We're in no rush."

The fun in wearing someone down lies in letting them struggle for a bit longer!

Catching him now would be too boring.
