As Lynn was preparing to call Ouroboros to discuss a hundred plans for blowing up Amon, in the Forsaken Land of the Gods—
Ouroboros stood in front of a canvas, holding a brush, with a serious expression. Only at times like these did Ouroboros resemble the King of Angels who had lived for thousands of years, rather than a stupid snake who had been dumbstruck by the True Creator's rap.
Although, to be fair, Ouroboros was already quite dumb before listening to the True Creator's rapping.
Ouroboros was painting yet another "Amon in Trouble" picture, faithfully replicating every piece that Lynn had painted and consistently sending them to Amon as a reminder of their agreement.
"Hmm?"
Suddenly, Ouroboros paused and looked up in a certain direction, tilting his head slightly as if he had heard something.
"Lynn?"
A few seconds later, Ouroboros muttered uncertainly. He glanced down at the half-finished painting and decided to put down the brush for now.
After tidying up the painting materials, Ouroboros left the studio and went to his usual place of prayer, beneath the crucifix where the True Creator resided.
"Lord, it seems Lynn wants to see me. Should I go see him?" Ouroboros knelt before the crucifix as usual and asked.
The True Creator, hanging upside down on the cross, seemed to say something, but the words were mixed with incoherent, malevolent mutterings, making them hard to discern.
Yet, Ouroboros seemed to understand. He showed a thoughtful expression, then nodded after two seconds, saying, "I think I want to see him."
The True Creator seemed to speak again.
"I will, Lord," Ouroboros responded with a serious expression, as if making a promise.
Then, he stood up and left the space shrouded in heavy curtains.
...
'The call has been made. I wonder when Ouroboros will arrive.'
In a certain residential house in Backlund, Lynn, dressed as the Angel of Secrets, stretched and poured himself a cup of coffee. He sat quietly in the room, reading the newspaper while waiting.
He believed Ouroboros wouldn't keep him waiting for long.
Indeed, just after Lynn finished reading today's newspaper, a familiar yet unfamiliar presence suddenly filled the room.
"Long time no see, Ouroboros!" Lynn put down the newspaper and greeted the newly arrived Ouroboros with a smile, gesturing for him to sit on the opposite sofa. "Have a seat. Would you like some tea, coffee, or juice?"
"Long time no see, Lynn," Ouroboros responded earnestly to Lynn's greeting. He sat down on the sofa as directed and thought for two seconds before saying, "Is there no alcohol?"
"Oh!" Lynn raised an eyebrow at this unexpected answer, looking at Ouroboros with a nuanced tone. "I didn't expect you to be this kind of Ouroboros. I thought only Medici liked to drink..."
Lynn couldn't help but be surprised. The artistic and dazed aura that Ouroboros exuded didn't suggest someone who drank alcohol.
Unlike Medici, who looked like he could down vodka in one go.
"The Lord once said that after reuniting with a good friend after a long time, we should celebrate with a drink." Ouroboros answered seriously, looking at Lynn with a genuine smile. "So, I think we should drink today."
"The Sun God... Ah, I shouldn't be surprised. It's an old tradition," Lynn mused with a nuanced tone, but he wasn't surprised at all.
After all, the ancient Sun God seemed like the type to do such things, and Ouroboros, who had been deeply influenced by the ancient Sun God since his weaker days, was bound to have similar tendencies, even if he seemed dazed on the surface.
"But you're right; today is indeed a day worth celebrating!" Lynn laughed. He got up and rummaged through the room, eventually finding a bottle of red wine in a cabinet. He also took out two glasses and poured some wine for both himself and Ouroboros.
Lynn wasn't averse to drinking, but he did so infrequently. He preferred the clarity that tea or coffee provided over the dizziness that alcohol brought.
However, when the occasion called for it, Lynn didn't mind having a drink or two, as his alcohol tolerance was quite good, making it hard for him to get drunk.
"Cheers!" Lynn raised his glass, looking at Ouroboros across from him, and smiled, "To our first meeting... I guess..."
Ouroboros also raised his glass and gently clinked it with Lynn's. He seriously corrected, "No, not our first meeting, just a reunion!"
Hearing this, Lynn paused for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh.
"Hahaha! You're right, not our first meeting, just a reunion!" Lynn said, his mood brightening further.
This meeting with Ouroboros was even more interesting than he had imagined.
Both of them then took a sip of the wine, but while Lynn only sipped, Ouroboros downed his glass in one go.
"Impressive!" Lynn remarked, giving a thumbs up to Ouroboros, who showed no change in expression after downing the wine.
"Indeed, stereotypes can be misleading... But then again, isn't this also a stereotype?" Lynn pondered for a moment before letting go of the thought and asking Ouroboros, "How is he?"
"The Lord is well, though his madness is worse than before. But I believe that one day, he will return to his former self." Ouroboros naturally knew who Lynn was referring to, then looked seriously at Lynn and said, "Before I came to see you, the Lord asked me to take care of you."
Upon hearing this, Lynn blinked, feeling a mix of emotions, and then couldn't help but scrutinize Ouroboros a bit more. Finally, he said, "Are you sure it's you taking care of me?"
Although the question might sound a bit harsh, Lynn genuinely doubted who would end up taking care of whom between him and Ouroboros.
Ouroboros just didn't seem like someone who could take care of others.
Ouroboros paused for a moment, then showed a thoughtful expression. After a few seconds, he said, "I can assist you as I did before."
He referred, of course, to the Second Epoch, when Ouroboros worked as Lynn's assistant, faithfully following him.
Lynn also remembered Ouroboros's diligence in the Second Epoch. Although he lacked initiative, this stupid snake was indeed a very useful tool.
"That's perfect! I do have something I need your help with!" Lynn patted Ouroboros's shoulder and smiled, "You know I'm planning to establish the True Creator Church in the Fourth Epoch, to reverse the True Creator's image and help him escape madness right?"
