Chapter 283 - Chapter 284: Klein: Does This Make Sense?

The Angel of Secrets left as abruptly as he had appeared, without giving anyone a chance to prepare.

This left Klein, overwhelmed with information and full of questions with no one to ask, Lynn too, seemed to have many questions but didn't have the chance to ask before the angel left, and Emlyn, who hadn't understood the situation from the beginning.

"Sherlock, I suspect he did it on purpose. I intended to talk to him about Mr. Door after you were done, but he didn't give me the chance. Maybe he doesn't want to talk about the Abraham family," Lynn broke the silence, his tone filled with undisguised complaint.

"Uh..." Klein was momentarily at a loss for words. He had also noticed that the angel seemed unwilling to discuss too much about the Abraham family with Lynn, focusing mainly on how to take care of the family.

"Perhaps he wants you to talk to Mr. Door personally..." Klein suggested after a moment of thought.

However, Klein frowned. Having been bombarded with so much information, he was still processing it. Now, with more time to think, he began to consider the possibility: had the angel changed his plans?

Previously, the angel didn't seem inclined to let Lynn obtain too much information about the Abraham family, only giving a prophecy about Miss Fors.

But now, within a day, they had been given a way to contact Mr. Door and detailed information about a representative of the Abraham family—Dorian Gray. The Angel of Secrets had conveyed this information to Klein in a very esoteric manner, directly imparting all the details about this Abraham member.

This seemed contradictory.

'Maybe the turning point is Mr. Door. Did the angel change his plans because we contacted him?' Klein pondered, finding this very plausible.

Although the Angel of Secrets had the ability to foresee the future, Klein didn't believe he knew everything. Based on Lynn's diary and previous prophecies, Klein leaned towards the idea that the angel's foresight was limited to general destinies and major events, not all-encompassing.

Such an angel would certainly encounter unforeseen events. Establishing contact with Mr. Door might have been one of those unpredictable occurrences.

Thus, the angel might have changed his plans after talking to Mr. Door.

'I don't know what he's planning. So far, it doesn't seem bad, but the mention of the apocalypse...' Klein felt a headache coming on.

Until today, he had never imagined that the apocalypse was only a decade away.

Does this make sense?

Klein found it unreasonable, yet neither the Angel of Secrets nor Lynn had any reason to deceive him about this.

'And why does the apocalypse depend on us? Is this why the Angel of Secrets and the Evernight Goddess are so focused on me?' Klein's thoughts were a jumble of emotions.

Ultimately, he sighed, silently telling himself, 'No matter what the apocalypse is about, all I can do now is work towards my advancement...'

"Mr. Door..." Lynn's expression turned complex and melancholic upon hearing Klein's words.

"Wait, who was that? What were you talking about?" Emlyn finally couldn't hold back, filled with questions and desperate for answers.

"That was... a friend of mine," Lynn replied, somewhat ambiguously. "You don't need to worry about Him; He shouldn't concern you. As for us, we were just discussing some private matters."

"Who cares about Him... Wait, Him?" Emlyn first retorted instinctively, then realized something and stared at Lynn with wide eyes.

"Yes, Him." Lynn nodded, then asked, "I remember the Sanguines lives for a long time. Your history archive must be immense, isn't it?"

"Of course," Emlyn replied proudly, then looked at Lynn curiously. "Why do you ask?"

Klein also turned his gaze to Emlyn, guessing what Lynn wanted to know.

"Do you know the Angel of Secrets? Or have you heard of Libert Abraham?" Lynn asked, looking expectantly at Emlyn. He was genuinely curious if his past deeds had been recorded.

As for Emlyn guessing his connection to Libert Abraham, Lynn didn't care.

As long as he couldn't figure out the Fool's identity.

"I've never heard of an Angel of Secrets. But I think I've seen the name Libert Abraham in ancient texts, probably related to the Tudor Empire's Mr. Door in the Fourth Epoch?" Emlyn White said after a moment of reflection.

Although the Sanguine might not have documented the Abraham family's post-war situation after the Four Emperors' War, their history would certainly include key figures and events from that time, including the Abraham family.

If Lynn had asked another Sanguine, they might not have known this history, but Emlyn, who enjoyed studying these things, had indeed come across a mention of Libert Abraham in some ancient text.

Hearing this, Lynn and Klein exchanged glances. Lynn quickly asked, "Have you seen any deeds related to Libert Abraham in those ancient texts? Like any gatherings he might have hosted?"

"Deeds, let me think..." Emlyn White, being honest, pondered for a few seconds before saying, "I think I read in some high-sequence figure's autobiography that during the Four Emperors' War, there was a rumor about Mr. Door's son hosting a tea party with numerous true gods and angels..."

"But I think that was just a rumor. Such a gathering seems impossible."
